Falling = Fa(i)ling.
Should one seek to fall well? Should one seek to shun entirely those situations in which falling is more likely?
No.
Do not seek to fail well or avoid situations to avoid failing.
Just do not be afraid to fail and make mistakes because that is when reality is teaching you what is true and correcting wrong expectations - for it is in failure do you gain the wisdom that causes success from doing the opposite.
It is when you learn what is true that you know what works and what does not.

How are you going to learn to avoid situations in which you might fall if you don't fall on occasion? Seems like you need to learn how to do both wisely. Still, the risk of falling is sometimes worth it. Heck, sometimes the falling is fun, it's the landing that hurts.

That's a tough question.But I believe you should do both,or is this a one or the other only-question?
Let me tell you about an accident that happened to me:
I was a passenger in a pickup truck,and the (inebriated)driver was driving erratically,I saw that we were going to hit a curb,and my mind was thinking,"when babies fall out of a one-story building,they often don't get hurt"(because they haven't learned to stiffen up,like most adults do)so I completely limbered my body,and we hit the curb and flipped twice. I walked away without a scratch while the driver was thrown through the windshield,and and received lacerations.It was a split second decision.

We are human; we make mistakes and we fall. We should therefore learn to fall with dignity. However, it would be a shame not to learn from our past experiences when to avoid those situations in which a fall might be too damaging.

It is better to learn to fall well, as there are times when it's impossible to avoid falling, and even times when falling is the better option.
Best wishes to you and to all,

If you avoid to fall you will never learn how to, and maybe someday it wont be possible to avoid falling

One should learn to jump-- either feet or head first-- doesn't matter which.
