We're going to start the yard just after the 1st of October. It's a lot of work going into it this year (because we're having a huge party) & I love the colors & lights; that way we get a month to finish the work, everybody who drives past our house gets to enjoy the display & I can spend the entire month loving it!!!! We'll do the inside of the house closer to the actual party. I have a Halloween shower curtain & stuff for the bathroom, I'm going to decorate the kitchen, the living room, the family room, the front porch. I am going to buy Halloween bedding this year so I can even do my bedroom!!
Have fun, Happy Halloween!!!

I think September is too early because you are still wrapping up the summer and back to school time. I would say the first or second week of October so you have the month to enjoy them before it is time other holidays. If you are just putting up fall decor (leaves, pumpkins, harvest) it could go up now and stay up through the ned of November really. I am big on getting the most I can out of the seasons. Have fun!

I'm a huge fan of Halloween and would like to celebrate it every day. However, I am aware that the rest of the world does not share my fascination with spookiness. So I'd say the first week of October is fair.

We usually put them up around the first of October. We have been working on our haunted flowerbed for several weeks though. No decorations in it yet, but it is starting to look spooky at night.

I'd say about a month beforehand. Since most people usually put them up over a weekend (since they have time off of work), I'd say it would be fine to put them up this year the last weekend of September (9/29 and 9/30).

I'd say two or three weeks before Halloween; you don't want to get tired of them, but you do want plenty of time to enjoy them.

Last couple weeks of September to the beginning of October. I always want to enjoy them for awhile.

Get started so you can enjoy them now. My wife starts around October 1, and has to rush to finish on time. But then we overdo things.
