My wife does it all the time, you may not even be able to see any skin on her feet or legs, but she says that she "has to" do it.

Then she complains about how uncomfortable and hot she is. Why does she does this if all she does is complain?

Does she think it makes her look skinnier or something?

Sometimes it does make a woman look smoother and slimmer - no bulges. It also hides panty lines. Try telling her to buy pants that are lined. They are more expensive, but she won't have to wear hose underneath.

I typically don't wear pantyhose under pants but I do wear tights all the time under my work pants. Not only do I find tights more comfortable, but I also wear the patterned ones that look like dress socks to the untrained eye and then don't have to wear socks over them. I also wear a leotard with them in leu of a t-shirt which also helps to hold them up from sliding down my leggs.

I don't suppose that she "has to", but some women (like me) always wear pantyhose under pants for the slimming effect and to avoid any panty line. I always want to look firm and smooth under all of my clothes, and I've never been uncomfortable wearing a good fitting pair of pantyhose underneath it all. It's really just a matter of a girl's personal preference and what she's comfortable with!

Actually I don't have a clue.

It could be she's so used to wearing them. "Has to" isn't an answer. Who says she has to do anything that she doesn't want to. It's not fair to you...you're the one who has to listen to the complaints.

I used to wear the good old pantyhose too. Gave that up years ago. Bare legs are the "in thing" these days. I'm sure she isn't going to go for that. Change must be very hard for your wife.

I'm probably not the one who should even being answering this questions. I live in jeans. If I'm not wearing "straight" shoes, it's cowboy boots Never had such comfort (boots) on my feet before in my life.

Wife needs to get a brave and try some change in her life. I'm not a kid anymore, but sure having some fun.

The trashy bare "look" isn't in.Pantyhose I'm told with pants gives a lady smoother lines, eliminate the creepy "camel toe",and eliminates the pants from jamming in between the crack of your behind which is also pretty creepy. It also keeps your tummy in and less jiggling of buttocks.Maybe she needs to find the right size or better quality hose for comfort.

She thinks they make her look slimmer. If she is so hot, suggest she wear knee highs (not thigh highs) if she needs some type of hosiery for her shoes. Also if she wears a thong, she won't have to worry about panty lines.

Nothing worse than seeing a woman with shorts, sandals and pantyhose.

I never wear pantyhose with pants, or ever really. Maybe she doesn't feel comfortable wearing dress pants without pantyhose. And women just complain for no reason, don't worry.

Have you ever seen the ugly panty lines on women? That's why!
Oh! It also keeps the pants from sticking on those hor humid days- they fall much better.

We don't have to. I would NEVER, ick! I hate pantyhose. I only wear them with dresses for certain occasions - like weddings and funerals - but not outdoor summer weddings.

Why doesn't she just wear knee-high stockings or ladies trouser socks? I used to wear those with dress pants when I wore them to work.

A lot of women do this because they feel it slims them out and makes them look sleeker so there aren't any bumps or bulges that shouldn't be there.
