she's a great roomate except for the snoring matter.

Just ask her politely if she's aware of this... then approach some possible solutions together. Maybe those nose-strips... maybe a swift kick to her bed at night to get her to change positions. If she can't help it no matter WHAT position she sleeps in - you might need to try ear-plugs... or sleeping in another room on those nights when it gets REALLY bad (if that's an option).

I would ask her if she gets a good night's sleep? Or ask her if she's often sleepy during the day? Maybe, this will prompt her to answer and then ask why would YOU ask? You could say "Well, I was starting to wonder if you had sleep apnea or something because you snore a lot and sometimes really loud. You know that could be a serious health problem and you might want to see a doctor about it".

And seriously, it can be a health problem. She really could have her tonsils and adenoids in the way of her breathing which in turn will affect her daily activities.

Damn girl you snore like a lumber jack. Have you ever tried those strips you put on your nose? Seriously, your snoring never wakes you up?

You need to get all your roommates to together and discuss whose responsibilities are whose. Also drop hints like "Could you go check who has trash duty?". If she doesn't take any of those hints sit her down and say frankly it's her turn to take out the trash. Just don't be aggressive or rude. Be calm and serious and try to solve your problem. Good Luck!

And so once you tell her, what exactly do you expect her to do about it??? You are just going to make her paranoid and not be able to sleep. She will always snore. Your just being selfish.

"Hey, I don't mean to hurt your feelings, but you snore and it keeps me from getting any sleep. Is there anything I can do for you that would help you?"

Buy some breatheright strips and pull them out when she is there.... say something like "I am going to try these, I am not feeling well and they help you breathe and stop snoring...want to try them too?"

Buy her some breathe-right strips and make it like a helpful thing. You'll probably end up laughing about it.
(These strips do help - my spouse is a huge snorer, and he uses them almost ever night).
