My husband went to Toulouse and Carcassone a few years ago and absolutely loved both. He especially loved Carcassone and brought back tons of pictures - he's a fan of medieval arms and armor and medieval life in general, so he was really impressed.

it would be lovely to express your views on the places you've mentioned, to those relatives..and perhaps, set up a meeting to go visit...even for a couple of weeks...I haven't been there, but I bet they would love to see and meet you, if you haven't yet, and it would be nice to see for yourself, after all this time, if you really would be happier there good luck
