well he might not want the temperature in the room increasing...
things do get out of hand if u hav a bit of affection for each other and get a chance to be private
besides i m very private with my friends
especially if im with a girl
his leaving the door open means no one shud feel or get ideas about wots happening behind closed doors between u too ...
yeah.. its more than respect its ur REP hes protecting ;)
but he may still like u so dont los e HOPE hehehe

Probably is a sign of respect. It also depends on where is he at? ... at his parent's house, then it would be also respect for his Mother and maybe her wishes too. At an apartment or dorm shared with others, then maybe it means something else. Are you a friend only? And are you the only female around? Well, don't worry about it. If he enjoys your visits, then continue. If you have doubts about him enjoying you visiting him in his room, then don't visit for a while and see if he invites you to visit again. If not, move on to someone better. Good Luck.

How old is he? When you say "his room" it gives me the impression that he still lives with his parents. As the father of a 14-year-old myself, I have a rule in my house: if you have a member of the opposite sex in your room, the door must remain open at all times. This helps to insure that no underaged hanky panky goes on under my roof. It is highly possible your friend's parents have the same rule.

He doesn't want you to be uncomfortable or have people talking about you. Both ways shows a lot of respect.

it might be. but only if he lives on his own or with roommates. if he still lives with his parents it might be a rule of the house like it was with me. otherwise it is a way of him trying to make you feel comfortable and he isnt trying to "force" you into anything you dont want to do.

Sounds like a sign of respect. It could be he is thinking of your reputation.
