It is inevitable that humans will someday live on the moon. However, it is funny that folks are already spending money on property that they can't yet put their own feet on. I guess they are just making an investment for their children. I suppose its a wise investment for the future (the far future), so long as the realestate purchase is recognized by the international community. If it isn't, then all those folks that are spending money will someday find their family's property has squatters inhabiting the land and will probably have a VERY difficult time getting them evicted.
Also, with booming global populations, the moon does offer the opportunity for humanities growth.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

The gimmick that your are thinking of is a way that some people have to spur interest in Space Travel and Settlement. Under UN Treaty to which all member nation signed and agreed the moon has been set aside as an international site that no nation may claim alone that is why the Apollo 11 plaque in the moon never mentions the US and says we came for all mankind.

Well... only sell land on the *far* side. That way, we'd never see it from Earth.
The "land" that people are buying isn't really legally binding. It's like someone selling a person the Brooklyn Bridge.
The moon is covered by the international space treaty - treating all bodies in space like Antarctica - nobody can 'claim' them.

I don't believe anyone is buying land on the moon. They are being swindled.
Nobody owns land on Antarctica. That was agreed by global consent last century with the signing of the Antarctic Treaty. The world has moved beyond that kind of empire building, and there will be the same kind of treaty signed when we are able to go to the moon to build bases.
Don't believe all you read in the tabloids (or most of it, come to that).

first -- U.N. treaties prohibit ownership of extraterestrial property, but that could change. ( i am not a personal fan of the U.N.)
second -- at some point the moon will have visible structures nothing we can do about it.
third -- this can be prolonged by building underground (the safest, easiest, most visually appealing solution), or by building on the far side of the moon, since that side never faces the earth (not the dark side since, as Pink Floyd says, its all dark)
fourth -- are you interested in a bridge? I know a nice one in Brooklyn you may be interested in

Any land you buy on the Moon isn't really yours, because it doesn't really belong to the people selling it.
So it annoys you that people think they can "do what they want with" land they buy on the Moon. My question is, what ever do you think they COULD do with it. And if they wanted to and could do something with land on the Moon, they could just do so without buying the land first, because there is no present owner to sell it!

Your thinking way to far ahead my friend.
People buying land on the moon is just a gimick, if they want to waste there money, let them.
It will be a long time before any 'regular' mr and mrs joe's get to go up there.
Besides, once we destroy this planet, we need some thing new to destroy.

Its been shown time and time agin, we did land on the Moon. might I additionally remind you that there grow to be 6 Moon Missions that landed on the lunar floor for the duration of the Apollo era. None of those Apollo Moon touchdown's have been hoaxed. i will talk and disprove the conspiracy theories you are going to be able to nicely be familiar with. think of roughly it logically; The spacecrafts have been actual released by ability of NASA, that's difficult to faux. 2d the Apollo crafts might desire to no longer have orbited the Earth for 8 days by way of fact the countless conspiracy theorists have claimed. If NASA had of carried out that they could have been caught on their lie, tremendously in the event that they did it six cases. The Russians tracked the Apollo missions very heavily and that they knew for a actuality that not one of the missions have been faked. in the event that they only had the slightest clue that the Moon touchdown grow to be faked it could have been the appropriate propaganda weapon for use against the U. S. and to Capitalism. The flag waves by way of fact it grow to be planted in the soil and Armstrong twisted the poles. it is obvious by way of fact in different pictures you will discover the flag isn't shifting while he walks previous it. additionally the clarification there is not any blast crater under Apollo 11 is via the fact while the craft landed it decreased speed upon touchdown on the Moon's floor, so all that it did grow to be blow away dirt. an identical is with using right into a carpark by way of fact you do no longer stress in at 30 miles an hour. Over 3 quarters of a million people have been engaged on the undertaking in entire. it could have been impossible for each a million of them to maintain a secret. Even filming the touchdown could have been harder than touchdown on the Moon itself. think of relating to the style of persons they might have mandatory to shoot the Moon touchdown in a action picture studio. finally if the Moon touchdown grow to be faked, we might have found out years in the past. those issues do no longer final 40-one years without an answer.

Land on the moon is not for sale... it does not fall under the sovereignty of any one nation. It belongs to all of us, and we to it.
I've heard of someone who, through a loophole in some legal wording, claimed the Moon as his own to do with as he pleased, but it's just a bunch of bull****.
