You do not say how historical your son is or how lengthy you will have been separated from his mom. Pediatricians and different baby professionals are certified and legally ready of prescribing right doses of remedy to regard ADHD and sleep problems. A baby waking up isn't a situation always, however how he wakes up is extra to the factor. Is he crying, is he afraid, is he trembling or shouting, does he stand up and run, does he scream for his mother? Is he afraid to return to sleep, does he insist on waking up the family? ADHD children want an big quantity of sleep to manage effortlessly with the every day movements and ADHD children are a few of the smartest and such a lot talented. Whether you settle or no longer that your son has those stipulations isn't the factor. You aren't certified to diagnose him, your "opinion" is inaccurate. His mom, his academics and his medical professional all feel he does. ADHD is identified by way of signs and behaviors no longer a blood scan. If his tuition says he's a situation in the school room, his mom has no alternative however to comply with up with a scientific medical professional, after which to abide by way of his determination of medication, and the specifications of his tuition. She did not comfortably make up ailments to drug her son, that's absurd. You're his father. Or direction you desire him to be average, so possibly you are biased, or possibly the argument maintains you attached to his mom. Maybe he does not act up round you on the grounds that he's fearful of your disciplinary procedures or on the grounds that of your mood at his mom, or for every other intent that makes him too uncomfortable to be himself. Attacking his mom makes you appear like a controlling, irritated, ignorant (of the problems and drugs) jilted, conceited, egotist, no longer a worried father. Just pronouncing.

Every child gets frustrated sometimes, some more than others.
This can be part of his personality; he may not be able to express himself verbally as well as he'd like, or he is simply impatient.
These are all character traits that children out grow when they are taught to master the art of self control by their parents.
ADHD is often a catch all for normal behavior that annoys adults because it is difficult to have a bright, an active child; it takes a lot of energy to handle. and direct these children.
I guess it bothers me when it is so overused, because there are people who really suffer from conditions that makes functioning challenging every day.

No. If a child psychologist didn't diagnose him with it then he probably does not have it. You could always get a second opinion to be sure. I have one brother with ADHD and he has it. He has been on medication for the past 2 years and what a difference it has made. I cannot believe to explain it here. I am dyslexic as are my parents and my other brother. We have learned to deal with it. It is painful though I will say. It makes me angry when others downplay it or make fun of it because they have no idea what it's like. It sounds like your son is normal and I'm sure as he matures, things will improve in terms of his ability to concentrate.

I would get a second opinion if that's what the doctor said. It isn't uncommon for kids with attention deficit disorders to be able to focus on particular activities, particularly ones that are a)novel and b)provide constant feedback. (Video games, for instance, tend to be hugely popular because it changes constantly and reacts to everything you do or don't do.)

Doctors can be such jerks. My daughter has ADHD and she can stay focused on a single task for a long time because she is extremely interested in it (not obsessed). Get a second opinion.
