probably due to the false sense of superiority of the English.

I don't think there's a lot of hate, otherwise, the Welsh would separate. But to answer the question, the English were the first in the area to establish a large, powerful nation. So, they began conquering surrounding lands, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, etc...So, there has always been a certain percentage of the people of the conquered lands that have openly resented England's conquering ways. But if England did not expand, it too would have been subjugated by countries from mainland Europe, like the Germans tried to do and the way the Romans invaded hundreds of years ago. So, over time, all the related groups on Britain and Ireland have learned to not hate each other so much, but help and protect each other instead.

It probably goes back to when the Normans conquered Wales and built castles all over it. Also see the story of Owen Glyndwr. There were also laws which made it "legal" for instance, to shoot a Welshman with a bow and arrow if you found him within the walls of Chester after the curfew had sounded for the night. Stuff like that.
The Welsh language was denigrated for many years and English culture was imposed on Wales.
It is not uncommon for residual memories like this based on events that happened long ago to breed mutual dislike and distrust. The same is true of the Scots to a certain extent, and you have only got to look at the centuries of bitter hatred in Northern Ireland on both sides.
Of course in recent times, nationalist politicians like Plaid Cymru in Wales and the SNP in Scotland have tried to whip up this residual dislike of the English for their own ends, and devolution hasn't helped.

probably because of the fact that there were borders between the different areas in england just like in the US where texans think they should separate from the US and be their own country. and in australia where the people in the south like adelaide, melbourne, and sydney in the east want to distance themselves from queensland and probably WA and NT cos they think they're better and don't understand why the others do what they do.

They are jealous because our place names are easy to pronounce, and our language is far superior. I mean even the Welsh have trouble speaking Welsh.
