I'm merely trying to say if all you are doing is smearing the other side, by all means please do so, but expect the same back. Don't whine about it though. I love our freedom of speech just as much as Kookoo does and would defend his as much as my own. When we try to silence each other, we do more harm than good.

Average person- You are correct to some degree. i don't think Bush lied about anything. Presumed innocent until proven guilty. If we can prove it than I'll be first to stand in line say I'm wrong and impeach him. I do think you are right and that this war doesn't have to be a party affliation. Republicans need to listen to Democrats, and visa versa. We can learn from each other.

Hey there,
I probably won't ever agree with most of your opinions, but here is my opinion. You should continue to post your positions and explain them as you respond to questions, the dialogue is healthy and so very American.
Some folks, maybe a lot of them will flame you, I'm afraid that you'll be best off living with it just as everyone will have to live with you expressing your opinions. I suppose you could flag everyone but that wouldn't accomplish anything. I think the name calling, and flaming are just the price for your expressing your strong opinion, and would occur even if your opinion was the opposite of what it is. You'd just have a different group attacking you.
My sense says, enjoy the discussion, skip over the flaming, but be open to the possibility that every now and then you'll pick up a good point from those who are against you, and be open to sometimes rethinking and modifying your opinion if you come across something powerful.
I agree, that the name calling is not too kosher, but its just a part of participating in the YA community, we all have to get used to it to some extent. I'd only flag people who went really over the top, with a lot of vulgarity, or threats to your person.
Anyways, I'm going long here so let me just say, keep putting your opinions up. I lean towards the right and have strong Liberatatian type views with regards to our Foriegn policy, but I'd fight to the death to defend your rights to state your opinion. May I add that you should try to state them respectfully? I try to do that and generally I get good comments back.

You know what I hate most about people on either side of the political spectrum? Everything said by the "other side" is propaganda. We don't actually listen to each other's statements, because then we'd have to admit that the other side might have something useful to contribute. Here's the truth: both sides spread lies and propaganda. Lately I've been leaning to the left because the right failed us completely. My president led my people into a pointless conflict in Iraq under false pretenses. There is NO doubt in my mind that I was lied to and I'm mad. But I would like to point out that under the Clinton administration, very little good was acomplished until the Republicans took over the House. The balance of power between the two parties was a good one. Our economy prospered. And I don't credit Clinton, I credit the whole system. So here's the truth, no propaganda: Bush lied and should be impeached for it. But I think it would be a disaster to give the Dems control over everything.
Now stop asking stupid questions. You are part of the problem.
