Prosper could be an option for you. By looking at some of your answers here, beware of the loan scammers. Before you provide any personal information, get a verifiable business name, address and phone number. The big tipoff for loan scams is that they want upfront money. This is illegal in the United States. Any fees can be taken out of the loan proceeds or added to your monthly payments. Just be careful and good luck.

My suggestion is trying to borrow that amt from your parents or family related. 3-5k is not a huge amt of money but if you borrow it through a financial intermediaries you would have to pay them interest depend on your credit score. I think there will be an institution that willing to lend you some money but they will charge you with high interest rate because of your poor credit score. You are not at the end of the route. If you are still in school then you can loan money through Stafford Loan or Perkins Loan (need a cosigner). If you are no longer in school but do need those money to spend or pay for something then seek for financial intermediaries. The best place for you to go is the bank which is safter and more secure (no loan sharks ok?). First of all, try to talk to your parents/relatives and explain to them why you need this money and negotiate with them that you are willing to pay the full principle plus the interest if they expect you to. You can pay them every 2mths instead of mthly. They are the one who will charge you lowest interest rate and maybe none, especially your parents/close relatives. You need to rebuild your credit from now on because later on in your life, you might need to loan a bigger amt of money such as for mortgage. Do it now..Ok? Good luck and stop swiping those credits. If you're not be able to pay it mthly then DONT ever think about using it. A lot of you guys swipes it and never pay the whole amt, and accumulate it that why you are in debt. This is a good experience for you and learn from it. Peace!

If your credit is poor, your only hope for a loan of that amount is to ask your family or friends.
Write them a letter explaining your situation and why you need the money. Most importantly, explain how and when you plan on paying them back and at what interest rate (if any).

Probably no one, but maybe that's not such a bad thing......not trying to insult you; lots of people have bad credit. You don't NEED a loan, you need someone to help you get your finances back on track. Check out the site www.daveramsey.com and this could help a lot if you are willing to stick to it! You will feel so much better and relieved when you finally make it and you won't NEED credit to get things you want cause you can buy it with cash out of pocket. Just a thought....

Find a strong co-signer. If your credit is poor then you must have made some dumb mistakes with credit and loans in the past so obviously no one will want to jump on that bandwagon.

Instead of putting yourself further in debt, work on cleaning up your credit and improving your score.
Find other ways to come up with cash. Have a garage sale, collect alum cans, sell your blood/plasma, get a second job --pizza delivery has flexible hours and they always need drivers.
