You know... it comes with like 5, 10, sometimes 15 year warranty (against weeds). What a joke! I've never had fabric that my dandilions & crabgrass weren't able to break through in 3-6 months. I've always been lazy to bother complaining. But I think now I'm sufficiently mad to actually do it. Has anyone done this before? Any tips?

Your landscape fabric is fine. The mulch on top whether rock or wood chips traps dirt and debris which washes into low spots and forms the most wonderful soil for weeds to take root. The weeds are growing on top of the barrier not through it. RScott

We used landscape fabric, it was costly and time consuming when it came down to planting, we switched to black garbage bags, and haven't had a problem since. They are easier to work with, cut with scissors to fit your sections, we left them double, and you can poke through them with your garden shears much easier than the landscape stuff that you have to cut and fold, etc. Way more cost effective and lasts a whole lot longer and they are eventually biodegradable. Just cover with a mulch or top soil or rocks, or a combo, even some shallow groundcover works, too. Hope this helps.

I understand your frustration, but since they don't actually offer you a warranty then you can't get your money back. However, you can lodge a complaint at the consumer reports asserting that the product does not do what it claims.
Good Luck

I have better luck using old newspapers. Just don't use the glossy ones. It works wonderful and although its not pretty it works better.
