Introduction for a college essay help?

Ok I am having a difficult time thinking of what to write in an introduction for an essay I have to write. My subject is going to be my vacation to Illinois to watch my bro get out of boot camp for the Navy, I was thinking of writing the trip to the camp and what we did when we got there. So what i'm asking for is some help on the introduction.

Ummm actually, Yes I am in college. That's why I put COLLEGE essay and it's for an english class.

Your school guidance counselor should have examples of good essays. You can follow one of those and apply the principles to your own topic.

They can also advise you on how to turn it into something that would interest another person, rather than just "what I did on my summer vacation".

Introductions are half or less than half a page. In Universities, they can be longer. I don't think you are in college, so you can get away with a short introduction.

you can start by saying

Ever since my brother has joined the navy and moved away from our hometown, I was desperate to see him. I couldn't believe that wishes come true so quickly. I still remember that beautiful sunny day when my mother/dad informed me that we would visit my brother at????? In this paper, I would describe my vacation at my brother's boot camp. I will shed light on my experience of this interesting journey.

well, then you have to polish your eassy a little bit. How long does it have to be? Is it like a journal or a proper essay?

If it has to be more than 3 or 4 pages, you have to have a topic sentence and introduction, body, and conclusion?
