Dear Melissa,
i think a lot of churches and youth groups have Fall Festivals and carnivals.
i've also heard of some of my friends dressing up their kids as Bible characters.
At age 2 she's probably not old enough to understand-- i know in the youth group i lead- we teach on the origin of Halloween and encourage our kids to invite out their friends to fall festivals and things like that.
Hope those ideas help. Kindly,
Nickster

halloween is a pagan festival celebration the following day is all souls day
although not a christian festival there is no harm in joining in with the fun and even starting your own family tradition for it
it's not satanic in any form white witches celebrate it as a ritual for nature hollywood placed the reasoning of it being horrific to help promote horror films
i always get a small parcel of halloween related items and leave outside sisters house have done for years she's now 46
but then again she is a witch lol

We dress up in costumes & go trick or treating. Halloween is so far removed from its origins that there is nothing evil or of the devil about it in America, anymore. We carve pumpkins, we hand out candy, we decorate the front yard & I send halloween cards loaded with pumpkin shaped confettios, & my kids choose their costumes. Since your child is 2 you have total control over the costume, so no worries about a Satan worshipper coming out the front door, right?? Make the child an angel if it's a girl or a clown or a chili pepper or anything you think is cute!!! If YOU don't teach your kids that Halloween is an "evil night", then they won't associate it that way. Just have fun - trick or treat!!!

Melissa....Please understand. You can still be a christian family and let your kids celebrate Halloween traditionally. The "Holiday" is so far removed from any sort of religious meaning that it's just an excuse to dress up and have fun.
Please look at this way. People who partake in halloween festivities are not worshiping the devil or any othe anti Christ diety. They're just having fun.

This is absurd to even question Halloween as some sort of evil Satanic holiday anymore.
Let him dress up, do the whole Trick-Or-Treat thing and when he gets older teach him how to scare people.

We go trick or treating. My daughter is too young to know the story behind it, but she will eventually. It's just for fun, you get free candy...
There are a lot of Christians that have a church event on Halloween. They do it traditionally too. See if your church is doing anything special, if not, go to another church.

Halloween day of the spirits and devil. We dress up to mock the devil and the evil spirits, and yes I'm Catholic. Halloween is to celebrate the fall harvest, and has turned into a night for adults and children to dress up and be something different. Its a fun day, not a night of despair.

I have a friend that they don't believe in celebrating but they all dress in white, turn all of the lights on and pass out candy with the tracts, or the gospel, etc. The house is very bright & they see themselves as being "children of light" and they feel a responsibility to shine on that night rather than not answering the door. :)
ps add me as a contact and let me know what you guys do :)

Halloween is what you make it. If you want it to be about evil and devil worshiping then that's what it will be. If you want it to be about trick-or-treating, carnivals & hayrides then that's what it is. We love halloween! We even love scary things but it has nothing to do with worshiping the evil in the world.
