mlb.com shows his number as 24 but I thought this was retired for Willie Mays along with #37 for Casey Stengel, #41 for Tom
Seaver & #42* Jackie Robinson. I'm not sure if #8 is officially
retired for Gary Carter but I thought #14 was retired for Gil Hodges until I think I saw Julio Franco wearing it earlier this year.

Think the Mets will activate him once they clinch so he can steal a base or two

He's wearing #24. The Mets haven't retired it for anyone else. I took pictures of him a few weeks ago when I attended a game at Shea.

Henderson is wearing #24. The Mets have not retired it for Willie Mays, and I doubt they ever will. Mays' time with the Mets was in the very late years of his career, when he was but a shadow of what he once had been.

PS: As for if they activate Henderson -- LOL -- why not??? :)
