Since I am a Christian and disabled I can tell you at my church they have no problems with anybody coming to the services, most of them will be glad anytime to help you out around the house or take you some where if the need arises, when you are disabled it is a big plus having a church family to lean on, I mean less face it, there are times when we need help, at least I know I do. My church prays for me alot and it lifts me up and gives me hope, sometimes people with disabilities have a tendency to just get into a rut and can't get out, If you are involved in church they keep you busy. Church is a great place to be...

Religion now adays is very tollerant to it, otherwise that religion would get a lot of criticism.
But, back in the old days, when Jesus was alive, and even further back when Judaism was being made, no one knew that they were disabled, they thought they were just weird. They may have figured they were workers of Satan, and not allowed them into the Church and such.
Now adays thought, this has all changed with our newly acquired understanding.

I think it depends on the disability, some people's disability makes them naturally act in a way that is very much against many religion's tenents. There's some disabilities that are given sympathy and those people are told that Jesus or god has your back and there's a reason for it. And there's some that are punished for it. It's really hard to explain.

In Judaism (I am Jewish and have an autistic brother) they are treated with compassion and tolerance. I can't speak for other religions but I do know of a Christian church nearby that has a large handicapped population and so they must be tolerant as well.

They're treated like any other worshipper (like a normal person) - which is what it should be.

i have no idea, but i am guessing that they treat them like helpless lambs that needs "Saving" oh my god, i really hated religions. That is why it makes me so mad "We'll be praying for you." "Find Jesus and you will be saved." Gah, it's pointless.
