Black women come in many shades I know that most of these women are African and not all of them are dark skin actually. However these types of black women are RARELY on tv.

No that's not what I'm say...all sistas are beautiful equally but darker skin or brown skin black women represent what black people looked like before slavery.

I understand completely what you are saying. I hope you are asking us and not telling us that you think those women are more beautiful. Anyway, I think that every since slavery society has kind of embedded in our minds that the lighter skinned you are and the closer you look to being white means you are more beautiful. Halle Berry and Beyonce are 2 beautiful black women, but we have to admit that they do not both have the "typical" physical features of black women such as the hair texture, nose, or full lips. I do believe that if they did possess those characteristics they would not be as popular as they are today. You think they'd give someone like Alfre Woodard roles like Halle Berre? And she's an incredible actress. Do you remember when Vanessa Williams was crowned Miss America? A lot of black people (not myself) thought that having her as the 1st black woman to win the title was not a huge accomplishment, b/c she didn't represent the "normal" black female like the ones you showed in those pictures. As for myself, I thought that it was awesome that she could be the first to win the title. However, I still understood why some people thought what they did. Anyway, it's a lot to do with how society wants us to see ourselves. What is "accurate" anyway? We shouldn't let society determine that more us. Black women come in all different skin tones and body types. We are all beautiful. It is true though that society's view of an "accurate" black woman would be the ones you have shown. It's very sad though.
Just so Boo knows Halle Berry is considered a black woman. Because so many white people during slavery thought to be black was so bad, they decided that 1 drop of our blood makes you black. And I'm sure Halle Berry has more than 1 drop of it. She has also stated in interviews that she identifies with the black community and that she is black indeed.

Black women come in many shades.
ETA: You've got a point there. I wish they'd have more darker-skinned black women on TV...although it IS getting better, little by little. I always think of The Cosby Show...why weren't ALL the daughters dark like Cliff and Claire? Lisa Bonet and the other chick were obviously biracial. Where there is nothing wrong with that, all the children should have been dark-complected.

Not at all, not that they are not beautiful because they are. So are Halle and Beyonce and I am a fan of neither but I know beauty when I see it.
With Beyonce and Halle you see the mixing of the races over the generations. The same can be said for the lady in link #8.
These women are darker is all. Wait a minute, is it that you think they are purely black that makes them more appealing to you. If so, dollars to donuts there was mixing in the tribes from which their ancestors hail.

i'm not black but agree that it's sickening that dark black women are not represented... well, pretty much at all... in just about all forms of media and entertainment. Beyonce and Halle Berry are beautiful, a good quantity of the abundance of white stars are beautiful, but these women are beautiful too. and with youth basically revolving around the media this is just sick. ever seen the Proud Family on Disney? The dark black girl is fat and b*tchy... this is what little children are watching!!!

Wow! I feel truly refreshed! I am not racist or black power or anything, because my family is a conglomeration of races and colors, but im really impressed to see a brotha give chocolate women props! halle and B are attractive, but their not typical everyday women....theyre made up from head to toe. So to see "real' being recognized...its refreshing!

Yes they are. Every one of these women are beyond stunning, and every one of them make Beyonce and Halle Berry look like the useless celebrity fakes they are, especially Halle Berry and her freakishly paralyzed Botox-injected face.

Yes they are all fine. But the best example of Black beauty are the women I see on a daily basis. I would much rather have an around-the-way girl. Nice jeans, timbs, no make-up. fine by me.
