I was found not guilty of a mistemeanor charge at age 20 and am now 23. I was told in court that it would be completely off my record eventually, but they didn't tell me how long that would take. How long does it take for it to go off of your record of the charges were dropped, but the offender was an adult at the time?

I wasn't arrested. I was issued a ticket.

Sorry. Charges were dropped, not "not guilty."

An arrest remains on your arrest record permanently. If you were found not guilty, you do not have a conviction record.

Charges weren't dropped - you were found not guilty. You will always have the arrest record, but it will not reflect a conviction.

Charges dropped and not guilty are two different legal animals.

The case will remain public record for ever, It may be removed from your police records but the case will remain on file at your county clerks office for ever.

If you were found not guilty, then there's nothing to be taken off. You were acquitted.
