I could never for the life of me ever understand this.
Twisted women lusting after famous serial killers and murderers... Richard Ramirez ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Ramirez ) received a lot of penpal letters from women, and eventually *married* one of them from prison. Timothy McVeigh received tons of penpal letters from obsessed female "fans". I don't know if it's the "fame" that these women are attracted to or what. When it comes to fame/popularity, women tend to wh0re for fame. It's like some kind of a disease.

That's easy, women want arelationship, but maybe not 1 on 1 nor all the time,so they feel safe writing prison inmates so it's not so up close & personal, & the guys behind bars know just the words to use to turn a woman's head.

Some women have this thing for underdogs. Some want to feel needed and a guy in prison is too tempting to ignore.
They also think they can change them. Big mistake.

There aren't nearly as many female prisoners and a lot fewer of them are as nororous of some of the more famous male serial killers, terrorists, bank robbers, and the like. However, it should be pointed out that the more famous female prisoners get fan mail, too. Some of the former female Manson family members have been married while in prison and they get letters from men who are attracted to them.

Maybe because women tend to be more compassionate despite their better judgement...or because they have a greater need to talk to someone and be appreciated.
Prisoners and inmates are more available to listen and show attention without the fear of rejection.

I think women are brought up to fix and rearrange things, and they transfer that to people. They see a man in trouble and they want to try to fix him. Their fantasy of what this man COULD be is more exciting than any real guy that they could actually have.
