GWB has all but guaranteed a Democrat victory, and a majority in both houses.

No, not really.

While I do think that Hillary will have a snowball's chance in hell of winning. (more on that below.)

What I think is really killing the Dems chances is that they once again have entirely too many serious candidates. I mean, how many people were on that stage during the YouTube debates, 27? Or did it just look that way? They are balkanizing the party. It is the same think that hurt them in '04.

As to the above comment about Hillary's chances, there are a lot of reasons (married to Bill, questions about ethics, etc...) but I just do not think the US is ready for a woman president. That is not to say that a woman cannot be president. A woman most certainly could be president, and I personally would welcome one as president. But, I think a woman would have to run, and come close to winning before the general public will feel safe voting for her.

It is the same reason that independent candidates do not get elected president. People feel they are "throwing" their vote away by voting for someone the do not feel will win it.

As a woman I am sad because it is time for some changes and another point of view in the Political arena. However, that change is not coming from Hill/Bill Clinton. Had she divorced him I would have tried to support her.
I believe that the Clinton/Obama ticket will blow up in the parties face. Edwards is the only clear, honest hope for change. Do not discount Thompson here on the other side. AND if AL Gore wakes up we have a race here now.
Too early to doom anyone, just pray and continue to pass on information that you feel may get someone to think first, vote carefully and get involved in 2oo8. Volunteer. Help the elderly get to polling places.
In my opinion Hillary comes with too much baggage and ultimately millions of hard earned public dollars will be wasted on their arrogant dreams. Thank you very much.

It very well could mean that. It seems like they are trying to force on us either the first woman or black president. Either one is actually fine by me.But it almost seems like a kind of gimmick. Also, don't forget that there are millions and millions of closeted mysoginists and bigots in this country, and it is likely they will come out in force to vote for anyone other than Hillary or Obama. It's funny, not only did they choose a woman to run, but they chose one of the most universally Hated WOMEN they could find. It's almost like they want to lose. They really would have a much better chance with Obama.

Not at all. It IS, however, proof that the mainstream liberal media is pulling all the stops to get Hillary the nomination. They figure if they say "Hillary is the Democrats' choice" enough that the Democrats will believe it. The truth is over half of registered Democrat voters have already said they wouldn't vote for her, no Republican in his/her right mind is going to vote for her, and her chances of getting the undecided vote are slim to none because of her far-left leaning beliefs. So you have to ask yourselves: Why is the media pushing so hard in their support for Hillary?

Which party? Hillary, or for that matter nearly any democrat will spell doom for the Republican party. How are your Republican candidates doing in the polls against any Democrat?

Given that I thought, back in 2000, the fact that George W. was the front-runner for the Republican nomination was a sign that the Republicans were doomed, .......... no.

Yes. The nomination of Hillary will ensure a GOP win next year because she is so polarizing.

However, looking at the GOP candidates and their stances, I would venture to guess that the GOP is doomed as well and will lose a lot more seats in Congress next year.

Only Ron Paul and his traditional conservative views can save the GOP at this point.

The fact that she is also ahead of all the GOP candidates means, by your thinking, both parties are doomed.

If you like a cool calculating fascist to run America into the ground, she your gal.
And because she is a woman, is not a reason to vote for her. If that was your answer, you should not be aloud to vote, you are a fool and dangerous to the survival of America. On election day, go try to read that pop-up book you just bought
