Yes, I understand that the top teams are only a few games over .500 this season, but they've provided some of the best excitement in all of MLB.

The last three NL representatives in the World Series have come from the NL Central, and the last two have had less than 90 wins in the regular season.

The NL Central has the best action for the playoff race right now. Every other team leading for a playoff spot has at least a 2.5 game lead.

If you look on the board, most of the talk right now about the playoff race is about the NL Central. Without this close race, the finish of the regular season would be a bit quieter.

It will be a good race to the finish. The Cubs have 6 home games and 10 road games remaining, and this weekend's series against the Cardinals could determine if the Cardinals will still be in the playoff race. The Brewers have 10 home games and 7 road games remaining, and the true test for them will be those 7 remaining road games.

This race will come down to the last week. The Cubs have the easier opponents, but they will be on the road. The Brewers have tougher opponents but are at home. Personally, I think the Brewers will get it, though it will be close. With Sheets back, the team has been re-energized and they should have enough to make it to the playoffs for the first time in 25 years.

Name any other division where you can put all the names in a hat and draw them out and have a chance of picking the correct order of finish? 1 through 6 it is the hottest contested division in all of sports! Look at what the Reds, Pirates and Astros have done to the Brewers, Cubs and Cardinals this year. It's insane!

The rest y'all just haters. Word.

Let me start by saying that I am a Cubs fan. I think that you may be confusing a tight race between 3 barely above average ball clubs with good baseball. If any of the top 3 teams had played even halfway good baseball over the last 2 weeks, they would have about an 8 game lead. Is it exciting that you still have two teams tied this late in the season? Yes. Does that make the NL Central a good division? No - in this case all it means is that 2 slightly better then average teams play in a division without a truly good team in it.

Last series of the year Brewers vs Padres - Cubs versus Marlins enough said - Cubs still have a ton of games against St. Louis whom is falling apart. No team in the Cetnral is built to win 90 games in a season. But I bet they would be very good in a best of 5 or 7. Oh yeah Cubs starters and bullpen have been much better all year. Brewers thank goodness for Prince Fielder!!!

They play baseball in the NL Central? Yeah I say they are evenly matched, evenly matched in terms of poor play. Neither team wants to win, it's terrible watching it. It's not exciting, it's a joke. St. Louis makes a run and then loses 6 in a row. The Cubs win and are in first then lose the next day. The Brewers win and are in first and then lose the next day. And they aren't losing to good teams either. St. Louis has lost to Cincinnati, Milwaukee has lost 2 out of 3 to Pittsburgh, and the Cubs lost 2 out of their last three to Pittsburgh and Houston. Seems to me that Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and Houston should be the top 3 teams in the NL Central since all they've done lately is beat the top 3 teams.

Ok first of all, it's just a horrible division! Neither the cubs or cardinals will win when one of them get into the playoffs! Pitching is the cubs focus! And the cubs don't have power hitting or good averages to get runs in! The Cards have a couple power hitters but they can't manufacture runs in! The pitching for the Cards has sucked as of recently even though they have a couple big names! And don't even start me on the Brewers, they started out soo good and now they can't win games to save their lives! If you put any of these teams in almost any of division they would not even be in the running this year at all!

Wow. No offense guy, yet those are undesirable predictions. how are you able to declare the Reds will lose one hundred video games even with getting extra useful? How will the Cardinals sink to under .500? How will the Brewers end 2d without pitching in any respect? and you rather think of that stacked Cubs team will end with merely ninety wins? i'm sorry, yet i'm rather indignant by ability of those predictions. right here's a extra probably subject: a million. Chicago Cubs (with closer to one hundred wins quite of ninety) 2. St. Louis Cardinals (they have the main conventional administration team interior the branch, and their surrounding opposition (minus the Reds) have made 0 advancements) 3. Milwaukee Brewers (like the Astros, offense can merely take you so far) 4. Cincinnati Reds (they're getting extra useful, yet they simply have too many unproven gamers to foretell a severe end) 5. Houston Astros (payroll slashing and getting older veterans will ultimately lead them to a non-element come September) 6. Pittsburgh Pirates (no clarification needed, yet they gained't end with ninety six losses, that lots is for confident)

Some people are so dazzled by numbers that the big picture eludes them. Just because these teams are at .500 doesn't mean they are bad. If any one of these teams played in a different division, their record might be better. They are geared up to play each other more than they are teams like the Boston Red Sox. Plus injuries have taken away from all 3 teams. Given a different venue, they might be better than their current records.

It doesn't matter who wins this division, they're going to be sure victims to Arizona in the divisional round. It could happen that the wild card winner will have a better record than the Central chumps. In the end, the Mets are going to win it all anyhow, so who cares about the NL Sucktral?

You said it, "The Brewers have 10 home games and 7 road games remaining."

FYI, the Brewers have the best record in ALL OF MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL at home. They dominate at Miller Park. They will win 8 of their home games here on out and a split on the road gets them into the playoffs.

It may have something to do with the Cardinals being 5 games under .500 with no starting pitching and yet they still have a shot at the division.

Do I need to mention the lead that the Brewers once had and have now blown?
