Oh Boy
I hope you are ready for a regular 1,500 word essay Shane101 cause you are about to get one......
The News Media is 100% absolutely and utterly disinterested in almost any type of good news. They have a term for it "Fluff Pieces" that is what The Media refers to happy or positive stories as. Why? RATINGS! The News Media is no different than any other television show in the neverending quest for higher and higher rating. And what brings in the really big ratings? Blood Gore Murder Death Mayhem and Carnage. Without that vicious little shrews such as Nancy grace would be out of a Job tout suite! The News Media loves nothing better than to sink their grubby little talons deep into a nice juicy scandal and milk it for all it's worth. In their rush to get those all important ratings anything good or noble will be swiftly trampled into the dust.I've been saying it and I will keep saying it The Media is not going to be satisfied this time until they have Vince Nailed Up On The Cross. The News media ruined the career of Bill Clinton Ted Kennedy Micheal Jackson and more. You honestly think that if they want Vince there not going to have him? Well that's my opinion on the subject. Sorry if I went off the Media just annoys me. I can't help it.
Oh Yeah BTW *starred*

To some degree that's just the media in general. Negative news equals ratings. Most media outlets would rather cover a murder, a disaster or something along those lines than anything positive.
Does wrestling have a bad image? Yes. Most legitimate media outlets view wrestling as far beneath other types of entertainment. Therefore, to them, it's only worth covering if something bad happens, because this helps to reinforce negative stereotypes about wrestling.

Great Question! Starred!
The thing is that the Media only gives attention to negative thing. As sick as this may sound, people like to hear negative stuff, rather than postive stuff...and not just for wrestling..but for all news in general. Which would you rather hear about...a crazy murderer who kills 10 people or a man donating money to the red cross? Most people who pick the murderer, just because people find that interesting. Its a sick world...
But you are totally right. The WWE does so many great things . Just the other day, Paul London & Brian Kendrick went to a home for kids who have AIDS and brought the kids in a limo and drove them around the city and dontated a bunch of toys. but that would never get on the news... =[

The media is only interested in negative news. When the Chris Benoit tragedy happened, the news was all over that like a football team dog pile. When Vince and the WWE does something like a special show for the troops, the media won't cover that. The media totally sucks!

Negative news sells papers its that simple. Besides if Vince went around bragging about the good he does people would probably say "What a d*ck look at him patting himself on the back". I think Trump & Vince said on Today or Good Morning America that they both agreed to donate 5 million to charity each for Trump to take part in WM 23

The media just attracts anything to make them ratings, including negative news. The only time positive news is broadcasted is if it affects thousands and thousands of people on an issue that is received as negative(i.e. tribute to the troops when the Iraq war is a disaster).
Look at the media, look at what is on the news. I want to find out about the local news at times, and what is broadcasted? Britney Spears' "number one fan" crying in a video on YouTube? Paris Hilton's "sentence" in "prison"? Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's problems with adoption? Is that news to watch? Is any of that important to us? Meanwhile while a ton of celebrities are overblown, WWE is mostly discussed through controversy (limo explosion, Stephanie McMahon's "wedding", steroids, steroids again, suspensions, Chris Benoit, etc, etc, etc.....).

Doesn't this question pretty much cover all news... How often on the world news do you hear anything good??? How about the VMAs??? The only thing I heard from that is Britney stunk up the joint, I don't know if they had one good performance all night or who else performed, cause its been all Britney...
It's not just the WWE, but they have a new spot light because of Chris a few months back...

AW MAN!!
You made a good point out there! The media only cover the bad news that happen in the world of wrestling. That's why wrestling has a bad image for the people that don't watch it.!There are too many things that Wrestling Companies(and more specific WWE) did and noone never mentioned about them!Good Point my friend!!

The liberal news programs love to find dirt on the WWE and pro wrestling. Anything for ratings, right? Plus, if they showed the troops cheering and having a good time, that might put a *gasp* positive light on the war. Our liberal media would NEVER do that.
Great point man...you deserve a star!!!
