It was a she, not sure if that changes the question or answers. Thanks for the answers though, it's been on my mind a lot lately and been a bit confused.

Are they getting a divorce, and it's just not final yet? If that's the case, that's just a matter of time. If they are married and cheating on their spouse, you don't need that crap...tell them to hit the road. Sounds like they told you when they did because he or she was having second thoughts about cheating though...

Because they knew you would say no t the date. This way they at least get the date. Some 13 year olds act that way. Steer clear and never settle for less.

This sounds like this is nothing new to them.. This is probably what they do. They were probably interested and thought that if they told you ahead of time, you would decline the invitation to take them out.. Now that it is in the open they are probably hoping that you don't care about them being married since they don't.

The person probably wasn't married, they just used that excuse so you wouldn't ask them out again. They realized you weren't someone they were interested in after all. Bad way to get out of a date, but I wouldn't put it passed to many people out there.

Well she's either a cheater to hubby or she didn't like the looks of you so she thought the comment would diswade you from asking her out again.

3 Reason i think why they didnt tell u at first
1) they didnt want u to kno
2) was scared to tell u
3) thought u would react different if nobodi was around..
my advice to u is Leave dat Person along if they cant be upfront wit u and tell u they are about to get married really dnt kare

How does this person know that you intend to ask them out on the date before you actually do?
They told you at the right time. (Maybe they thought you just wanted to "hang out"...and when they realized it was a date, they told you. It's hard to say!)

Because they wanted to go on a date and you may not have gone if you knew about the marriage. I suggest you spill the beans if you know the spouse. Being unfaithful sucks.

I'm betting they weren't planning on telling you at all and was considering an affair, until guilt got the best of the person. That or they were hpoing you wouldn't care...
