Have you ever tried reading Patricia Cornwell? She has a very good and addicting series of books that are the Kay Scarpetta Series. Or Sue Grafton, the A is for Abibi, etc... They are also a series about a woman private detective. And yet another series of books is Jonathan Kellerman's Alex Delaware series. I have rad every book on all three of these series and they all ar wonderful reads plus yo get a bit more interested in the characters because there are several books to read. All three authors are wonderful story tellers and they just seem to suck you right into the characters world.

Have you read Dan Brown's stuff? DaVince Code, Angles and Demons, Deception Point and Digital Fortress? When I first read Simple Genius by Baldacci it reminded me a lot of Digital Fortress.

For a classic that isnt boring I reccomend The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, I just finished it. His writing is very much timeless. And it's a lot more interesting than the movie.

I Agree George R.R Martins A Game of Thrones,in The Song of Ice and Fire seires. A Great Book!! will warn you though,it's no fairy tale where a band of heros fight
the darklord riding their unicorns. It's a dark book.

It sounds like you like reading suspense. Thats my favorite kind of book too. I recommend anything by Ken Follett, he writes not only great mystery and suspense novels but also lots of them are World War II era.
