I had a rough child hood, and have held so many things in for at least 17 years, They have followeed me thru the years, am I able to press charges against my stepdad, even thou it has been so long,

No you don't have any legal recourse because you feel your step dad was a jerk.

Spend your money on therapy instead.

No. There are statutes of limitations on those types of things. They are usually 2-5 years.

Did he even do anything illegal or was he just a jerk? Either way.. statute of limitations prevents you from trying to press any charges against him after this long. Sorry.

Consult with an attorney. Somethings have a statue of limitations: meaning that if a crime was committed in 1975, it olds no crime after 2 years. The only crime that doesnt have statue of limitations is murder. So, if he abused you sexually or physically, then consult your lawyer.

There is a statute of limitations on being able to file against someone and if it is just your word against his with no proof then you are out of luck. get therapy

You can sue anybody for anything these days all you need is the money to file the paperwork.
