If George W. suggested God talked to him by way of a hairdryer, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and all the different Bush apologists might proclaim it 'perfect and reliable' and anybody who disagreed un-American.

Oh, I'm laughing - this is a GOOD one. Here's a contribution to your point:
"I feel like God wants me to run for President. I can't explain it, but I sense my country is going to need me. Something is going to happen... I know it won't be easy on me or my family, but God wants me to do it."
--George W. Bush commenting to Texas evangelist James Robinson in the run-up to his presidential campaign
"God told me to strike at al Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam [Hussein], which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East. If you help me I will act, and if not, the elections will come and I will have to focus on them."
--Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Abu Mazen quoting Bush when they met in Aqaba; reported in The Haaretz Reporter by Arnon Regular
"I don't think that witchcraft is a religion. I wish the military would rethink this decision." - to ABC NEWS, June 1999, regarding Ft. Hood's decision to allow Wiccan rituals
I think people attack me because they are fearful that I will then say that you're not equally as patriotic if you're not a religious person. ... I've never said that. I've never acted like that. I think that's just the way it is. (Washington Times, 12 January 2005)
I trust God speaks through me. Without that, I couldn't do my job.
reportedly said to a group of Old Order Amish as published by the Lancaster New Era, July 16, 2004. [89]

Good question.
Why didn't the US think he was nuts when he dragged them into a war?
Why wasn't the whole issue debated heatedly when he showed intention of going into Iraq?
Now the US is in a quagmire.
Debating and questioning is a waste of breath.
The US has reached a point of no return.
The credibility of the US is at stake.

Why are you thinking about George Bush's hairdryer? Do you have some type of fetish with hairdryers?

Christians talk to God all the time. It's part of their faith. And many Christians believe that God talks to them. Not so much in words, but in thought. What others might call 'conscience'. But this is still a genuinely deliberative conversation. Don't you deliberate when you have a major decision to make? Why is it beyond reason that a person of faith include his faith in this deliberation?
It continues to amaze me that folks like you see a person's faith as being a weakness or some sort of character flaw. You could have a far worse role model than a guy like Jesus Christ, don't you think?
It's certainly healthier than the righteously self centered attitude of folks like you. Of course, that's just my opinion.

ROTFALMAO
I'm sorry, when I read this I got a mental picture of George with the hair dryer pointed into his ear.
GWB: Hello God, God? What should I do about Iraqistan
Hairdryer: WWHHHIIRRRRRR.
Secret Service: FREEZE< CORD UP< DON"T MOVE!!!!!!
GWB: Now you went and ruint it, just when he was about to answer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And as far as Jesus as a role model, forgive me if I'm wrong, but didn't he say "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God" ?
I guess GWB didn't get that message
As long as the hairdryer said to go out and kill people for oil it would be OK.
