ARE ACCUSED OF? COME ON, GET REAL. THEY'RE ALL DOING IT. THEY'RE, APPARENTLY, A LOT MORE CLEVER ABOUT IT. I'M NOT SAYING IT'S RIGHT TO DO. I'M SAYING THAT IF YOU DON'T, YOU'RE AT A DISADVANTAGE. THE PLAYING FIELD IS STILL LEVEL, BECAUSE EVERYBODY ELSE DOES IT, TOO. PUNISH THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE STUPID ENOUGH TO GET CAUGHT. BUT, PLEASE, DON'T BE STUPID ENOUGH TO BELIEVE THEY'RE THE ONLY TEAM DOING IT. MANGINI'S JUST A SORE LOSER. THAT'S THE REAL REASON HE COMPLAINED ABOUT IT.

Is anyone naive enough to believe that every team in the NFL isn't doing exactly what the N.E. Patriots?

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO USE FOR AN EXCUSE WHEN THE PATS BEAT THE CHARGERS?

I agree with just about everything you said...especially about Mangini...and the Patriots just happen to be facing the second best team in the NFL this weekend, the Chargers...I smell a conspiracy...Everyone, including the NFL is trying to knock the Patriots off the top of the mountain since they had the best offseason and are primed to win the Super Bowl again...

I don't think that N.E. is the only team that does it, but I don't think every team in the NFL does it. I also think N.E. probally does it more then any other team. If you look at the facts, N.E. has been caught twice in two years (G.B. caught them last year but did not file a formal complaint) and the more you do something the better chance you have of being caught. So useing common sense, the fact that N.E. has been caught twice and no other team in the entire NFL has even been caught once, that tells me N.E. is probally doing it more often then the other teams. I know that the question asker worded the question the way he did because he is afraid of people saying that N.E. has won the games they did by cheating and he figures if he says eveyone does it, we can't say N.E. has an advantage. I think N.E. has deffinately had an unfair advantage against some teams by doing this. Is this why they won the superbowls they did, or the playoff games they did. Probally not, but now we never will know for sure and that is what is killing the N.E. fans. This has destroyed some of there accopmlishment.

So people are saying the Pats have done this for years. Wasn't "Mangenius" hired by the Jets for his abilities as the defensive coaching for the Pats? Was he benfiting from this while he was with the pats? Woudl he have the Jets gig without the aid of "sign stealing" while with the pats?
You guys may not agree, but Kraft needs to apologize, deny any knowledge, forfeit the game to the Jets, suspend Bill for 1 game, and send flowers to Mang*na.
This effort is the only way to salvage the Pats reputation and hang on to the draft picks the league may yank.
This forfeit will not stop the Pats from ruling the division or making playoffs, it will make the Jets look like whiney b*tches, and force the Pats to work harder to make up for it. Might blow any chance of home field in the playoffs though.
I don't like it either, but they bent the rules and got caught. Fair is fair. I don't think anyone is buying the "we didn't know it was wrong" excuse Bill is pulling.
If they lose to San Diego i am sure we will hear it is because the mighty Pats couldn't cheat this time.

I guess you would have to chalk me up a naive. Despite what you might think, there are men of character in the world and some of them run NFL football teams.
I think the Patriots crossed a line by taping the signals as opposed to trying to see the signals and make adjustments. To say that everyone cheats is to demean those who are not cheating. I don't think you can lump everyone into the same category. In fact, I would guess that there are coaches who were surprised to find out what New England was doing. Because they are men of character, they did not even think of doing something like that. In fact, Green Bay caught them doing it and did not even grasp what was going on.
Not everyone who finds a wallet on the street will take the cash and toss the wallet into the trash.

Dude, Like the others have said above. The Patriots got caught and should face the penalties. Just because everyone does it doen't mean they should not be punished. Bellichek knew it was wrong. Goodell sent out a memo warning all teams about this last year. Patriots are cheaters, call them like I see them. It's against the rules, END OF DISCUSSION.
P.S. Patriots are going to get beat by the Chargers this weekend in Foxboro.

I agree... this situation is only a matter of the Patriots being caught using a video recorder. The NFL as well as team owners, coaches, etc. are aware that teams will attempt to decipher play signals. (Both offense and defense) Otherwise, they wouldn't cover there mouths with clipboards and playbooks while on the sidelines!

Cheating in sports is nothing new. It's been going on for decades. The Patriots are just one of the few teams that got caught.

Almost everyone speeds too but that fact doesn't get you out of a ticket or paying for one. The ones that get caught are the ones that get punished. That system is designed to get the ones not caught to see what may happens if they do and change thier ways.
"Everyone else does it!" Has never, ever ever been a good defense for any improper act. My mom will testify to that, she always said "So if Billy jumps of a cliff would you do it too?"
