It's a stupid argument and I just don't see what the big deal is. Why can't you believe in both? If God is eternal, what would he/she consider to be one "day"? The book of Genesis was cobbled together from accounts from hundreds of generations of people, so lots of the stories have to be somewhat interpretive. My take on the whole thing is that God created everything, stuff evolved, and now we are where we're at.

Just because someone is christian (i.e. grew up in some denomination of the christian faith), that doesn't mean that they can't be logical and educated. There is a difference between Christians and CHRISTIANS (i.e. fundies). Not all people who go to church are raving right-wing intolerant religious fanatics.

Natural selection =/= Evolution. The theory natural selection is up for debate, just like how one could have a different explanation for how respiration works, with the amount of evidence, you'd be a retard, but still, especially as theory means something a little different in 'science talk'. Well supported theory trumps unproven and inherently ridiculous hypothesis. Evolution as a process isn't a theory, it's, for want of a better word, a 'thing', like the process of respiration. Or feet, or anything readily observable. The difference between Macro and Micro evolution is time, and we can observe evolution in simple life forms, with short life spans such as bacteria. You know, new antibiotics wouldn't really be needed if evolution wasn't a fact. Because nothing would change, ever. That's what evolution is. Or did God create all the different breeds of dog? Also, A*, 95%+.

I believe that God- or what ever you want to call him- I prefer God- created the universe and sparked the beginning of life here on earth and it took off on its own. If that makes any sense. I have a lot of beliefs and I think that there is really no "right" answer. Evolution is a scientific fact, how can anyone not believe in it? Just my opinion, I guess I am more spiritual that anything- I dont have just one belief and follow. Sometimes I think organized religion is more of a cult than anything else- seems like there is a lot of hypocrisy, and I dont think God likes that very much. I could go on for hours, but I wont.

I believe that God invented the basic template for all things. He has an idea of where things will eventually end up. I think he comes in like a mechanic once in a while to change something(refine somethings, remove others, add some new designs) and he gets involved with everyone. He only really steps in though if something goes drasticly wrong and needs him right away.
