You find iron in hemoglobin, where it acts to pick up oxygen molecules in the lungs and drops the oxygen off in various other places as needed.

Another one besides hemoglobin are siderophores. Siderophores are iron chelation organic compounds secreted by bacteria to help transport iron into the organism. There have been attempts to use siderophores as antibacterial agents since the chelation with iron transports them into the bacteria. Sort of a Trojan Horse concept. Hope this helps.
