Well Biff stole the Flux Capicitor so until they get it back don't count on doing any time traveling.

In my opinion, it will never be possible to go back in time. Say you were to go back in time before you were born and kill your father. Then you could never have existed in the future to go back in time in the first place. There are inifintely many paradoxes like this.
If you like witnessing events in the past, play a video tape with a past event on it or something.

According to one of my previous physics classes, it is actually impossible as of now to go back in time. To keep it simple, based on an equation by Planck or Schroedinger, to obtain a negative value for time (as to allow going back in time) we must surpass the speed of light, a feat that cannot be done as of now.
