There are several ways...
generally its easiest to select the text with the mouse... ie click and drag the mouse (when its a I-beam looking cursor) over the text and it should highlight... Note: you need to let go of the mouse the highlight should stay until you do the next step otherwise you will need to re-highlight it... (technically highlighting is called selecting text)
(Note: to do this with the keyboard use the shift button and arrow keys)
then: most text allows you to see a rightclick menu so you can right click and select the copy option...
or with the keyboard you can use Control + C (at the same time, generally one holds the ctrl then presses C)...
either of those will copy the text...
if you wanted to remove the text and put it somewhere esle (ie cut it), theres a right click option for cut instead of copy, or instead of C its X (ie control + X will cut instead of copy)
both functions are similar the only difference being that copy will leave the original text untouched, while cut will auto-delete it...
after you have cut/copied text then place the cursor (generally an I-beam and CLICK where you want to place it... ) note this should reposition/create a typing cursor (as opposed to the mouse I-beam I keep talking about) then simply paste
by a similar method to above... ie, Right click and choose paste, or use Control + V... (Note: its simple on the keyboard if you remember the order cut copy paste because the keys X, C and V are in that order)
Note: these command often also work for graphics or other OLE objects generally the way it goes is:
select the text/drawing/item/object, cut or copy, choose where to paste and perform the paste...
Note: a similar, somtimes more advanced way to copy/paste is by dragging and dropping, it tends to be done with the left button but some programs (including when copying/moving files in explorer) also gives you a rightclick menu ... but generally the idea is the same, you select the item, then instead of right clicking on it or pressing the control key and another key, you click... then DRAG the item around, and replace it somewhere else... then let go...
For something slightly more advanced, theres some modifiers here, if you press control, shift or alt while dragging you may notice a + symbol which shows the difference between copying and moving... (ie with the + it will copy the item, without the + it will move the item)
Hope this hepled

To add a link, go to the web page you want then click inside the address bar at the top of the page. The entire box should be highlighted blue with white letters. Right click with your mouse and select Copy, or you can also use the key combination of CTRL+C. Then, go to where you want to put this link, click on the space so you have a cursor, then either right click and select Paste or use the key combo of CTRL+V. You can do the same thing to copy and paste anything from anywhere else. Just select the text you want to copy, then use the commands above.

If you want to copy an entire page:
- Left click on mouse and then click on "select all"
- click on "copy"
- move mouse onto place where you want to paste and
click "paste"
If you want to paste an item :
- Highlight the item by pressing the left mouse button and
dragging the mouse over the item.
- Click right mouse button, "copy" and "paste"
Open a blank document, and try copy/pasting things... it's fun.

Instead of adding links, I'll tell you briefly how to do it.
1) Highlight the text.
2) Right click.
3) If you want to copy, click "Copy." Then, where you would like to paste, right click again, click "Paste." If you want to cut text, click "Cut."

You can press the Ctrl key and the C at the same time after something is highlighted and that will copy. You can then press Ctrl & V or Shift & insert and that will paste.

Highlight the text you want to copy and go to edit and select either "Copy" or "Cut" to paste it where you want, go to edit and select "Paste" For pictures, right-click them and select "Copy" and paste them where you like.
Also, you can highlight the text or pictures and press Ctrl+C to copy it and Ctrl+V to paste it where you like.
