My preemie is not getting full during her feedings and she's only two weeks old. She's already taking 8 oz at every feeding. I breastfeed and bottle feed her and it doesn't seem to be enough. She cries until I give her more. Any suggestions?

How often does she eat? Have you ruled out lactose intolerance? If not, get a can of soy formula and try that.

8oz is more than my 16 lb four-month-old eats! Discuss it w/your doctor. She should be eating every 2-4 hours, on average.

Keep feeding her 8 oz, I am a preemie and while i was in NICU the new doctor(the old one I had was shifted off), said i need double dose and almost messed me up. I was all bloated and everything. Like the others said try different options and consult the pediatrian. God bless!

She might also just be developing the suckling relfex, preemies sometimes get this after they are born. Have you tried a pacifier - new research shows they are good for preventing SIDs.

jsut keep feeding her. shes probably going througha growth spurt and it will pass eventually. my son did that too and it eventually passed he eats less now then he did when he was 6 weeks old and he 5 months old. feed ehr on demand wheenever she is hungry. i know it 's hard but reall yit's the only ting you can do - good luck and congrats
