Don't you agree that both are needed in a life in equal balance for that life to be a whole one?

Ms Crone, Hate is simply TOO heavy a burden to have to carry around for very long. I dump ALL my hate on my Oolie statue and make HER carry it instead. If I ever need it, I know where to find it. Love, on the other hand has zero wieght and I can carry a whole lot of it around and I DO. It's a pleasure to carry love around and it seems that I just can't carry enough of it with me.

I belive that hate may be to strong of a word at times. yes, I do belive that there must be some of both, however love and hate are so close to eachother on an emotional spectim they get confused with eachother. Soinorder for ones life to be whole as you put it, there must be love but there must also be the understanding that there will be things that we detest and hate and that they make us apprecite the love and respect we get from others more.

Personaly, I do not have a balance. I love more than I hate, but that doesn't mean I don't detest. so I do appreciate the love I have but also use the detesting that I feel to appreciate the love I have more.

The other side of love is fear
Fear comes from unloving an aspect of yourself
You can only "hate" something in the other that is reflected in you.
Why would you want to balance it.
Love is the only sane answer
Love is God
There is no other than God
To balance God with what, some derivative of fear?
Insane.

All you need is love
to live as God in this world
That is the answer
How to do that
That is what you are here to learn and achieve
Is it possible, yes,
Likely, maybe,
the more of the more of.
Love all
Be at peace
God is love
Love is balance
Love dissolves fear

Great question. thank you precious child of God.

I think people tend to overuse the word "hate". There are so many degrees of disliking something, but hate is the first word out of people's mouths. Yet, so many are afraid to use the word love at all... it's very sad.

They are both emotions that are undoubtedly going to happen to us all at times, but I wouldn't say that they are necessary.

I try to have a positive attitude about everything in life and I try to acknowledge my feelings as much as possible. If a person understands the reasons behind an occurrence that they don't particularly like, it makes it harder to hate.

Hate is most often a form of frustration at lack of control over something. We couldn't stop an unpleasant thing from happening and we get upset.... we hate. We can't change another being and we let it bother us... we hate.

Our own insecurities overtake us and we allow hate to control us. If we feel this and acknowledge why it has happened, we can then learn about ourselves and why we reacted to the situation in such a way... and the hate fades.... if we understand, we lose fear and we can once again be happy.

Love is about understanding and being comfortable with NOT controlling things, accepting that lack of control and embracing it.... appreciating the things in life that do make us smile and knowing that they happened for a reason that you may or may not know.

Love is being at peace with whatever comes our way. People feel the strength of love so powerfully at many points in our lives so we try to reserve the word for such powerful times, but love is more than just that thrilling passionate feeling. Love is the feeling of knowing you are exactly where you're supposed to be.

These feelings are nature's way of indicating where our life's path should lead us.... follow your heart.... love will lead the way.

Yes..... hate is such a harsh word : ) ...... Let's use strong dislike...... since Cristian's believe we should love everyone......ultimately untrue. We cannot love everything.... the negative feeling we build up on a daily basis have to have an outlet and it is a relief to hate something or someone for time to time. It's an opportunity to unload everything build up inside you....
and yes there is a thin line between love and hate .... the best feeling you have towards someone can turn into the worst based on their actions towards you

No. There is no fine line between them. They are on opposite ends of the spectrum. You have to choose either Love or hate. A hateful person is not really capable of unconditional love. This is the true meaning of the "Battle between Good and Evil", it is in our selves.

Not necessarily. They're two different things and they should be in proportion to what is to be loved and what is to be hated. For example, I hate it when people make overgeneralizations about how we should balance love and hate.
