What would you do to that person if you knew you would never get caught? I'm not talking about someone hunting an animal for food...I'm talking about malicious torture...

If I came upon someone in the act, I would be guilty of vigilantism.
This is an interesting question about peoples' morals. I judge no one in a situation like this, but I know in my heart that it would be difficult for me to restrain myself from seriously hurting an offender of this type.
PS: people who 'torture' animals often do the same to other people, so I think I'd probably be doing society a favor on the whole. I don't think this makes me a bad person- substitute the word 'child' for 'animal' and not one person would hesitate to jump right in. Helpless is helpless.

I would definitely intervene. I would move towards rescuing the animal and punch/kick whoever got in my way. I would immediately take the animal to a vet and then call the police. I would call a friend to come watch the criminals for the police.
My first concern would be the animal.

well i've actually had to stop someone from beating a crow once, and my family and i just yelled at these kids, and took the crow home and tried to save it...it didn't survive. if the situation ever came up again i would just be more focused on saving the animal instead of what i would do to the other person.

I would call the cops and remove the animal from their possession. It is a shame to think that this truly does happen.

Call the cops.
It's a crime and a big indicator that something is not right with the individual. Either they need help or someone around them does.

I would tie that person up and put tons of the animals fav food on him and then let the animal "do his thing"!!!

Considering that animal abuse is a felony in most areas, *I* wouldn't have to do anything except call in the calvary.

That would be one sorry asssss thats for sure. And would give em the same treatment they were giving the animal.
