I personally use both. Sometimes at the same time. IE has it's own features that are a benefit. There are some web pages that will only work in IE while they wouldn't work in Firefox. Though Firefox is a good benefit to have as well because of there own extra features and extra security. It would just be easier to have both in your computer instead of having to decide. But it's up to you :-)

The main advantage of Firefox is the ability to customize the browser with Add-Ons. I've used Ad-Block Plus since it came out. But now some web sites are blocking FF because of it.
IE7 now has tabs, but the updates to both v6 & v7 have implemented new security standards that block content. A warning is pasted at the top of the page and you have to authorize things like YouTube videos.
It's pretty annoying.
For pure speed Opera is the best. It implements all the W3 standards, has tabs that reload if left open, and it's share of the market doesn't draw many hackers.
But none of the browsers can completely protect you from malware, spyware, etc.

I love Firefox! The main reason is that it can keep many windows open at a time, it can remember IDs and it has a decent auto-fill. I have used it for a long time and have never seen Firefox crash.
I never use IE any more.

It really comes down to person preference. IE is needed for some updates but Firefox seems to lead in features and is often less subject to attack.
I use Firefox.

mozilla firefox 2.0 is definitely better. first of all its free. Its alot faster with good features too it with google search and everything right along on the start page. Its really fast and it has a larger memory so more could fit on 1 Mozilla Firefox page. It is also compatible to more sites then Explorer. Its got everything you need to search the web.

I have been running both on my puter now for about a week. Once I opened Firefox and got the properties configured they way I want things to load and all that jazz, I totally love it! I haven't opened my IE since!! You should just go download it and see what you think yourself. You can have as many browsers on your computer as you want, so long as your puter can handle it. I also have Safari... I don't like it much.
Have fun.. go explore Firefox!!!

Both have their issues and Microsoft is getting better at fixing their IE security, and various other issues.
Firefox seems to be hitting a downward trend with the amount of issues that have been surfacing lately. They used to say that Firefix was a "safer" browser than IE. That's not the case anymore.

If you are looking at porno, Firefox dominates. You'll never get spyware or a virus, ever. IE on the other hand, you will get many.
