On Sunday, July 29, Chris Wallace interviewed Senator Russ Feingold on Fox News. Wallace observed that Democrats had received thousands of documents related to the firing of the U.S. attorneys. He asked if the Senator could point to one smoking gun that had been discovered in those documents indicating that a crime had been committed. The Senator stammered that he could not name specifics but that he was sure that a crime had been committed.
What crime this might be is never explained. The Democrats are angry because U.S. attorneys were apparently fired for failing to prosecute vote fraud. Democrats always hyperventilate about vote fraud. Whenever it is proposed that voters show photo identification and prove that they are the person they claim to be, Democrats recite sad stories of hypothetical voters who are destitute wretches and cannot afford to obtain photo ID.

If, in fact, there is a citizen so poor that he cannot obtain photo identification, one must suppose that he is eligible for welfare, food stamps, and Medicaid. I don't suppose it would be asking too much for the destitute wretch to show the same identification he had to show to prove that he was a destitute wretch and qualified for welfare, food stamps, and Medicaid. Or, for that matter, that he must show in order to cash his welfare check. They seem not to have thought of that, but that is a story for another day.

well, perhaps you are right.
i say that an independant prosecutor is appointed to look into this THOROUGHLY.
if the bush administration has nothing to hide, this should present no problem to anyone.
right?

Well I was mulling over the same thing -- kind of like, over and over again.
But I'm looking at it from my perspective, wondering how the repugs can be so dumb as to let a 90% approval rating post 911 turn into such disdain for the republican party that if the dems put Homer Simpson up against Bush (if he could run again) that Homer, despite his obvious flaws and a totally dysfunctional family would win in a landslide. And Homer is not even real.
The answer is simple why that happened. ---------- just plain unabashed arrogance has got them into a heap load of trouble along with hiding their heads up their backside as Bush took them down his sewer.
Peace

I suspect the investigation is ongoing, it would be an ethics violation to comment on it at this time. Not to mention he is a politician, and they do not like to commit to any answer, it seems!
As far as identification for welfare, that is required so the same person doesn't collect benefits from multiple agencies. I used to live on the WI/IL border, and it was common for people to collect benefits from both states.

they choose to bypass it interior the lame duck consultation after the election. they do no longer want a exceeded budget mess to be on the minds of the electorate in November. extra useful that folk think of they could be incompetent losers than have people understand they're.

Democrats will bend over backwards for their nanny gov't. It's the democrat voter base that are helpless and can't clean themselves after a bowel movement.
Lazy, arrogant in ignorance, with a hand out at all times.

I don't see any specific accusations that would match the headline question. All I see are disjointed republican talking points following a biased thumb nail synopses of one interview.
