I am 36 wks and 2 days pregnant and my blood pressure is jumping about all over the place. Several times in the past week it has reached 145/95, and I have had protien present in my urine samples. How high does my blood pressure need to go before I can request an induction? I'm starting to feel so down, and the constant trips to the hospital are more than slightly inconvienient as I must find childcare and get my husband out of work!

Just ask. I did and they agreed. I have 2 other children and my husband works 6 days a week long hours, so my Dr agreed and Im getting induced on Tuesday. Ill be 38 1/2 weeks. They said since this isnt a first baby, that they dont have a problem with it. Good luck to you!

Funny, I asked my OB on Monday to induce me 10 days early and he said sure, no problem. I'm on baby #3 and it would be really convenient, but he said we'll tell them at the hospital that it's due to the hip surgery I had last fall. My bp is low and no other real complications, so I don't see why they wouldn't induce you with the symptoms you're having. I would ask for sure!

Hey - I would think that since it's a problem, they should induce. I would hate to hear that they had to do an emergency c-section, when they can just induce you so you can deliver naturally! Just ask your doctor - I'm sure they wouldn't want to risk your heath - the baby will be fine outside as long as you're healthy!! Good luck!

i would ask them if they think induction would be possible. Your blood pressure isnt too high, but the protein in your urine is a concern. At your next appt after they are done checking you ask them what they think about it, who knows they might agree and set something up.

Sure you can ask. Just be prepared for stage 3 contractions the whole time!

145/95 is not high. the bottom number is the most important for one thing. and 145 is not even high enough to cause any effects. your doctor will induce you due to your BP if he feels it is necessary. they shouldve reassured you that 145/95 is not even high.
