Recently I received an email that explained how I was a servant of Satan because I preach compassion and love, which according to them are the traits of the “Anti-Christ”

They were especially upset because a poem I wrote in my 360 blog mentioned Maitreya so they referred me to this website.

http://www.satansrapture.com/maitreya.htm

Which sounds hateful of Buddhist to me.

So if good (compassion and love) are signs of evil then what hope is there?

It seems they try to put us in a position were only one of us can be right. I’d be unconcerned if they seemed a bit more benign.

So my question for all is:
Isn’t there a way for someone so full of self-righteousness to discover whom he or she serve, good or evil?

Of course, many people do evil thinking they are right and do good deeds, including many people who think that Jesus is God, though Jesus himself say in Gospels he is son of man, he and the Father are two, his will is little compared to Father's will, the Father give, and Jesus take from the Father, Jesus is praying to the Father and ordered his companion to pray not to him but to the Father,…, and after all this many Christians say that Jesus is God without any proof, and against all this clear words in the Bible,
Then we may discuss the next phrase:
Moses , John the Baptist, Jesus, and Elias are messengers of the God; the father of Adam and all of Adam's sons and daughters (us), and to all that believe on his name, all prophets get aids from Angles of God.

I'll use King James Version Bible here with no comments on only Matthew Gospel :

There are two key factors mentioned in this question: Disciple and Dedicated So the answer to this well worded question is that God knows the heart of the matter and can separate error thinking from what is true in the 'heart'. As to the details of the Q: there are those out there who are indeed 'blasphemers' and that includes those who would like to cause confusion or separation from God in those who walk with God. Do NOT let that deceive or confuse you! Now, if this is a 'trick' Q, well then, it has been answered fairly and truly. I do NOT look at sites listed in Qs or details.... If a person is not SURE who they 'serve' then that is because they have not chosen to be sure. And all this is about CHOICE the power of free will sovereign dominion choice. This Q shows clearly how mostly this power is misunderstood at best and abused at worst. Thanks for the Q :)

Men have interpreted women as evil human beings in the Old Testament; see the matter below, it can answer to your question:
Adam was being alone. The serpent was a God's messenger. Remember that God makes the world good at its first dawn; there were not any evil forces at the beginning of the world. So, like as wizard (a good sorcerer) the serpent took a rib bone from Adam in order to provide him a wife (his second side who must stand by him). Both (Eve and Adam) were too naïve and they could not have any babies. So the serpent taught Eve about the nature of the life which was going to be in the next future. The serpent had told Eve about the life, before she was going to understand the knowledge of the life. The serpent warned her that there are evil forces outside the God's garden and the 'outside' is the life. Furthermore, the female side of Adam wishes (for ever) to have babies, so she entered to the world of the knowledge in order to understand what the living world is. Remember, the sin belongs to the ignorant person. To conclude, on the one hand Adam had sinned against the Lord (God) because of his ignorance, on the other hand, Eve put into practice the Lord's commandment (she made the God commandment alive), or she made the right thing (the living beings' duty is to make the world full of offspring). But over the time, the world became more bad and evil than once (maybe because of Eve's offspring); therefore, human beings (men) accused Eve (women) wrongly for her knowledge.
To conclude: believers of the obscurantism serve the evil.

I went to the link, and I had to laugh. An evil looking clown with 666 on his head...that's a hoot! "THE OMEN" movie (remake) has been released today on June 6, 2006 (666) as part of an ongoing deception By Hollywood since 1973 to paint the "Antichrist" as Billionaire Corporate Chairman with political ambitions." Yes, Hollywood is conspiring against us in order to herald in the AntiChrist. Just look at "Are We There Yet?" Who else but Satan would release such a movie. Gawd.... You might want to let God's soldier know that the AntiChrist is a bit behind the eight ball. It's already 9/07.

Coming from the Bible belt, I am so used to that kind of blather. There are certain fundamentalists who focus so much of their time and attention to evil, Satan, and the AntiChrist. They are obsessed with and spread their tales of fear, destruction, and death to anyone who will listen or do not share their views. Fear is ultimately their God. Anything that does not encompass that fear is "evil", including compassion, love, and forgiveness.

Honestly, that link was more benign than most I have seen and I wouldn't concern myself with it. If anything, read it again and see how freaking funny it really is. (The clown is still making me giggle.) Blast the person who sent it with some positive energy and love. It sure looks like they could use it.

Namaste.

If there were such a thing as 100% good or 100% evil people this might be more worrisome; however as it is, even somebody 100% dedicated to good will do some evil things, or at least things that are considered evil by other races, religions, creeds, philosophies, etc. I don't think anybody with even a vague understanding of the differences between good and evil can consider himself 100% good; even those who are so well-armored by self-righteousness have an inner awareness of their own imperfections, no matter what face they present to the world. So if even the very best men and women who ever lived were 95% or even 99% good, the rest of us shouldn't be surprised if despite all the dedication and effort in the world we're only at 90%.

That doesn't mean that the other 10% is direct servitude to the devil. The old scratch ain't that powerful. Everything good might be inspired from heaven, but we come up with plenty of rotten things on our own with any help. To somebody who sees things in absolutes, ie people are either all good or all evil, the 90% good doesn't matter, because they focus on the remainder. This has some basis in Christian beliefs, because the Bible says quite plainly that no unclean thing can enter into the presence of God. However to declare that any imperfection mars the whole forever destroys the very reason that Christ came to Earth. If we all realize that at the end of the trail our robes are going to be stained with scarlet, that we need Christ because we can't clean them ourselves, well then there's not a whole lot of reason to be focusing on motes in the eyes of others. What's the point of Christ's sacrifice at all if we can get ourselves into heaven with His help?

Let us say for a moment that that ridiculous website with the obviously heaven-sent language, inspired graphics, and powerful arguments was entirely true. That the Buddha of Compassion will truly be the Antichrist. How exactly does behaving hatefully towards those who aren't convinced advance the cause of stopping him? And why exactly does anybody think he can be stopped while simultaneously believing in the Biblical prophecies of his reign over the ending of the present order on Earth?

Of course I don't think that website is inspired by heaven at all. It's pretty ridiculous and I don't care what anybody says on TV it's not going to suddenly make me change religions.

I admit that self-righteousness is one thing that really sets my teeth on edge. I'm a Mormon, and my favorite quote from Joseph Smith is this: '...and I say unto you that there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner that repenteth than over the ninety-and-nine just persons who are so righteous; they will be damned anyway, you cannot save them.'

You go ahead and preach kindness, love and compassion all you want, and I'll leave you to struggle with whatever trials and difficulties that the obviously small portion of evil within you brings your way. I have enough nastiness within myself to deal with so I won't waste time worrying about yours.

First, about whether you could be evil...

You confuse purpose related judgment with moral judgment. Even as I am not qualified to judge your soul, neither are you qualified to judge your self as a soul. The only thing you can be sure is to believe that God loves you. If you do not believe this and you put your hand against yourself you are faithful to god's will and yet he does not love you?

The fallacy of moral judgment lies in change. People do change and peoples can change. How can you distinguish ignorance from evil? I would not ague that evil does not exist, but the discernment is tricky and there is no point most of the time. A judge puts a terrible criminal away either for the safety of the community or because he is evil? Both may work fine for putting him behind bars. But one is based on evidence and the decision results in an action using human faculties. But the decision that a person is evil can be a dangerous empty judgment using magic. There is no reason to go beyond human faculties and become God like. Moral judgments when separated from their practical components are vain and redundant.

As for your being unknowingly evil, this requires a judgment you cannot make. But you could be serving evil unknowingly. A person can do wrong things with good intentions. The expression, "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions," is found true from time to time. If your heart is in the right place you cannot go too far in the wrong direction. Here the only means you have is your brain and your motivation is your heart. So listen to your heart and use your brain! The sins of the record, denial (omission) and deceit along with misinformation and errors can mislead you and this is why you have a brain.

Well...I believe, there's always a basis of how everyone perceives things.

For instance, I believe that for someone to know what is evil, he must speak from experience. Thus, you have to be evil first before you can fully say that you know evil. If you were just identifying things as how others described them to you, then wouldn't you be lying or being inaccurate? Especially if in identifying evil, you have to say that someone else is being evil. That's the ultimate error there is, because you are not seeing things from the other one's perspective. What is evil for you may not be evil for the other one. Everything is relative from the two ends of the string. Assuming the accuser didn't even once became evil, how then could he know that the one he is accusing is really evil or not? Clearly, he would be speaking from ignorance. And if the accuser indeed was evil once, then he should be more capable of understanding the "evil" one and would rather be drawn to love him and gently be an agent of change, of help. He knows how it is to be evil and therefore he should be able to empathize, instead of harshly accuse.

Never mind them. There is a saying that whenever you point a finger to someone, your four other fingers are pointed towards you.

Only the most "evil" one knows those that belongs to him. He should. He just have to look for the things that resemble him.

So be careful in judging others lest you be judged by your own self.

A very good observation, in my opinion. People can be so easily misled into believing their particular brand of "goodness" is the only one. They start regarding everybody outside of their group as evil and in turn skew towards intollerance, hatred and ultimately evil themselves. They are so convinced that their on a holy mission that the ends start to justify the means, no matter how terrible those means. It's most in-your-face in religion, but you also see it in politics. Take the cold war, for example: America believed so strongly that they had to battle Communism on all fronts no matter the cost, that they ended up backing some of the worst dictators and mass-murderers in history. By the same token, the Islamist movements believe so strongly that politica Islam can and must "save the world", that no price is too high.

Philip Pullman explores this question in "His Dark Materials". I don't wanna give the plot away, but it's well worth reading.

Absolutely, a person can be convinced that they are serving God and yet commit what is undeniably monstrous harm, which I guess you could define as "evil".

Look at 9/11. If you are able to look at it objectively, every last one of the terrorists believed that they were making the sacrifice of martyrdom and honoring God. Yet one could hardly call the results "doing good".

However, I don't think the average person, trying to live by the Golden Rule (which is by no means exclusively Christian) and trying to be kind and live in a manner which benefits others, could be called "evil", unless there's a previously unknown definition of the word.

I would ignore people who try to undermine your self-esteem and the good you are doing in the world by introducing twisted, fanatical logic and dogma. If you live in harmony with your fellows and do the best you can to make the world a better place, you probably have very little to fear in terms of being "the Anti-Christ". :-)

Everything in this phenomenal world can be twisted and construed to represent or stand for this or that interpretation.
What is Evil?
What is Good? There is no certainty of truth, there is only interpretation.
Within my own life, how do I even know what I choose to express is "correct' or useful or good....
only by how I feel in it, and how those around me seem to respond. Even then, it is a crap shoot. Humans shift like the sands of the sea ~

so then, I find that all I really have is myself, looking back at me at the end of every day, and if I can look with love and acceptance upon who it is I see there, then I am on the right rack for me.
I will shine me forth through the Love I am, as best I can.
That is all I truly have to give!

The graveyards are filled with the self-righteous, who's only concern was to be right, to be the one who had the final answer. They died for it. They will return to live another round......

namaste.....

Evil is that which separates and holds us back from progression. You have done neither. Keep reaching out, showing compassion, acquiring wisdom and loving and you will be an example to them.

Many are blinded to the concept of oneness simply because they separate themselves from the whole with their illusions and mental constructs. This is why it is said, 'The mind is the slayer of the real'. They think they know, they think they're right thus they think others must be wrong and therefore evil. That isn't the acceptance and compassion of realizing unity.

Wish them well and shine your light into the darkness as a beacon to those who are seeking the way. :-))))
