why people give you a thumbs-down for an answer?
I don't understand sometimes. I feel like I try to be funny or clever and then I get a thumbs down. But then other times I get a thumbs up for something I didn't think was that great. I don't get it. How do some people get lots of thumbs up and others don't?

I only give a thumbs down, if an answer is vulgar or racist. And I give thumbs up, if an answer is funny or good. Yeah, I've given a funny answer & get thumbs down alot, but it doesn't bother me that some people don't have a sense of humor. Anyways, it's not the end of the world, so don't worry!~~

I've wondered the same thing. I've given answers that were factual, not opinionated, that I researched before submitting and I've gotten thumbs down for them. They weren't answers I made up but they didn't make someone happy because they didn't like the truth. I think some people have opinions that are so hardcore that they hate anyone who points out the opposite of what they believe
