So why did the left conveniently brush over that fact and believe his outrageous lies? Is obfuscation of the truth a "progressive" value?

You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT.

And Joe Wilson himself confirms it:

"I never claimed to have 'debunked' the allegation that Iraq was seeking uranium from Africa."

Although Wilson has been "inconsistent" in his statements, to say the least.

In my neck of the woods they call that lying.

Hey dude, you just got to provide a link otherwise it's crap.

Make sure its legit and not some right wing hate driven diatribe of obvious slander that not even the most ill informed would listen too, unless its from someone who is obviously warped from too much Limbah, Coulter and Savage supermarket tabloid entertainment that should only be read when someone is bedridden and needs a few laughs to cheer them up.

Also, why did Powell say the report he gave to the UN was BS prior? Like any good soldier, Powell followed orders.

Peace

He did not.
He refuted the allegation as a hoax spread in Italy fabricated by Zionists!
The "document" was proven FAKE!
The "yellow cake" and the sample that Powel displayed at the UN all proven to be a mascarade of lies cooked by neocons and zionists to drag US in a rogue war for rogue entities!

Provide a link please.

Niger had no way of giving Iraq uranium. The mining operations were owned by European companies..not by the state.

You know it is. He had to change his report because it did not fit with the approved agenda. Besides he could not say someone outed his wife if he didn't change his story.
