Oil companies don't determine the price of oil.
No one wants more refineries, or even expansion of current ones, but everyone wants more cheap gas.
Due to layoffs in the 80's and 90's there aren't enough refinery workers and the ones who remain get high wages or go elsewhere.
Americans gain 50 lbs and then want a Hummer to cushion their fat asses. They want cheap gas to help them pollute the air.
Go to UK or Europe and then ask if gas if expensive here. Did you know that BP (bought out Amoco, real name British Petroluem), owns NO REFINERIES IN BRITIAN? The British pay $8/gallon or more in order to protect their environment.
Are you willing to do the same? I am, but I feel awfully alone here.....

Oil is also at a record high $80 a barrel. If we would put Americans to work building refineries and drilling for oil here, that would bring the price down.

Greed......any excuse will do. Heck now high gas prices are doing us all a favor by making it so we are forced to walk or ride bikes and not have enough money to eat our lunch at a fast food restaurant.
Alot of our high gas prices aren't just due to gas prices though. Here it is taxes, taxes, taxes and more taxes.

I think its not strange but more like greed. The reason why oil company raise the prices of oil is because they seek for more profit due to the scarcity of oil supply.

I agree so much with you it's scary...have you been in my brain? NJ had to make a law that they can only change prices once a day! The gougers were upping the prices every 2 hours! He is an oil barron too, so he has plenty of interest in the whole mess. Send him packing!

Shame on you! Now because of verbal abuse the oil companies will have to raise prices to salve their hurt feelings.
You've heard that fuel prices are governed by supply and demand? Yeh. Pull the other one, it has bells on it...
