Hi! What is the approx. cost to get a bathroom roughed in on the second floor, it is above the mainfloor bathroom. Existing pipes are copper. This is for a full bath. Would like a ball park figure, as I don't want to get too excited about the idea, if it's out of reach for us. Thanks!

Hi again, we already have some fixtures, so don't need that added in. Also, my husband and handy man friend, can install the fixtures. The floors are wood. To play it safe, we want a professional to rough it in, but that's all. Thanks!

Also, we are replacing the floor in the main floor bathroom anyway (ourselves), and my husband does drywalling and painting. So we will open up the floor and/or walls ourselves, when told where to do so. So it really is only the plumbing part.

Probably around $600.00 - $1,000.00 by a licensed plumber in the Southeast, US. This is for rough plumbing estimate only. Does not include top out or setting or supplying fixtures. I'm a licensed contractor and that is the approx. cost I would expect to pay.
My last job was a full bath and a kitchen and about 150' of sewer waste line and the entire job complete, including fixtures, was $5,000.00

If you do it yourself it would be next to nothing. Instead of copper, which is expensive right now, you could use a flexible plastic hose available at plumbing store ( not a hardware). Of course cost of all the bathroom stuff would be as follows:
vanity- $100-150
sink/countertop- $100-200 (as long as you are not using granite or marble) I recommend what I used which is soapstone and is not very much.
mirror/medicine cabinet- $ 50-150
faucets sink- $ 50-300
toilet- $60-250
bathtub- $250-500
faucets tub- $80-300
flooring- $100-250 (again depends on materials) I suggest a nice tile instead of linolieum, it lasts longer and will not cost much being it is a small area.
Your looking at a good two grand unless you can find some used things from a second hand building supplier. You can find a toilet, vanity countertop, tub all of it from a place like this if there is one in your area. I would assume your plumbing cost would be no more than $200. If your husband does not know how tell him to look obn the internet it is much easier than you would think. Good Luck.

I have no idea about how much does it cost your plane ticket. Hotels in Italy are very expensive. They have been since ever. Even B&B is not that cheap. Outside the cities is better and food is cheaper. In the cities with the loads of tourists you pay to much for to little in everything. Big cities are spoiled by tourism. Others are unbearably expensive like Florence. Even water can cost the price of a small meal. I would say around 4.000 and a clean credit card just in case will do it. In Italy is easy to spend a lot of money. There is a lot to buy. Museums everywhere and entrances are not always cheap. I'm sure you don't want to go back without some art books and souvenirs. Transports are not that expensive. Fast trains are. I wish you a nice trip

You did not specify what type of flooring, concrete or wood. Depending on what type of access is there, you can figure around $1,000.00 per fixture. That should be a good budget number, could be more or less, depending on access, type of floor, etc. Now that price includes fixtures, a good medium range Kohler, Delta, or American Standard with a 5 foot fiberglass tub/shower unit. Of course if you go higher end fixtures it will cost more. Best of luck.

you really need a plumber and possibly a contractor to give you a real estimate. Their estimates are free. The answer depends on your home's construction, orientation of where things will be, need to be run etc. I would expect it to be in excess of $1,000 as a starting point. You will have to get into a interrior wall for the waste lines, supply etc. You may be able to T into a existing vent line. Supply lines are pretty easy, that 3" or 4" waste line can be a tough one to locate in existing structure. You may be cutting up the floor in the main bath area to get into the waste lines, it's hard to say. Ask a pro and good luck.

I work for a plumbing company and we barely mark up anything! labour is expensive because we have to pay taxes (in australia) and superannuation and car costs for the tradesman and the tradesmans wages and insurances etc. prices are up on materials because we get them at a better cost! so your still not getting them more or much more then u would buying it over the counter. plus who has to pick them up? or who has to pay to get the materials delivered? you obviously dont understand the jist of plumbing workplace procedures so you should shut your gob you drone.

hello
it is good that you have copper pipes but to add on to that they will most likely use copper to continue up stars and you might be looking at about $10,000 to $20,000 depending what you want in there like what kind of tub, sink, thrown, etc.
but they MIGHT be able to use PVC pipes on copper for the new bathroom and it will cost a bit cheaper but not sure hope this helps
