He is the best college coach of this decade hands down. I don't believe anybody could argue with that.

Im a Patriots fan, and I liked Pete Carroll. I think he may have been slightly over his head in the NFL, or just not experienced enough yet to be extremely successful, but he had moderate success. Couple playoffs over the years. He did OK, Bill is better but I hope Pete Carrol does well. Pete seemed like just an inch shy somehow of a real top NFL coach when he was at New England.

Carroll had a decent run, but after this year he is going to go back to the pros(and probably suck again) He is great at getting players, but he has only coached something like 5 years. He isn't even the best USC coach, yet. Mckay> Carroll. So was the guy before him. He wont coach long enough to become a Bowden, Bryant, Hayes, Schembechler, Paterno, or any of another dozen coaches that have coached at that level for 20+ years.

Best Ever? WOW someone is full of it. Pete couldnt coach is way out of a paper sack in New England. He also screwed the New York Jets after he agreed to become their head coach. I dont trust Caroll, I feel like he makes players promises then breaks those promises once players commit. Caroll is a good coach...but if I had the talent that USC had...i could have won multiple national titles. Hands down the best college coach ever...Bear Bryant, Bobby Bowden and the Old ball coach Steve Spurrier.

I agree completely.

He didn't do that well in the NFL, but what he has since said about it has made me understand why.

He said in the NFL, he did not like the fact that he was not completely in charge of his team. He had to answer to owners, managers, and even people in charge of computing the salary cap.

But at USC, he is in control of everything. Of course there is the President of the university, but he doesn't really interfere. What Pete says goes. He's able to do run his team how he wants.

So that's it: put everything in Pete' hands an he'll take care of it!

As far as the best coach to cheat and get away with it then Carroll is your man. He doesn't even make a pimple on Bear Bryant's a**.

He is pretty good, but there are several who are better. The BEST EVER was definitely Tom Osborne. He was a former football coach for the Nebraska Corn Huskers. I loved Bill Snyder at K-State too, but you have to admire what Osborne did at Nebraska.

EVER? No, I would not agree with that. One of the best today, yes. One of the best all time, ask again in about 20 years.

Even though I can't stand 'Bama. I have to say that Bear Bryant would have a thing or two to say about you thinking Carroll is top dog.

WRONG. It's Joe Gibbs

Well anyone stinks when they coach the patriots. Probably because the Patriots are cheaters. Makes you wonder about those past few Super Bowls that they won.....who knows how far back they have been cheating.
