mama - I have not asked the same question twice - maybe you are drunk and need to re-read my questions!

NONE. No beer either.

I got a DUI back in 1997, it cost me $1000 in fines and insurance costs, as WELL as costing me my career as a Naval Officer.

WHEN I go to my pub, I walk there and back. On the ranch, we won't drive a car, truck, tractor, ATV, or even the lawn-mower after the first beer.

None. Although the rules here in UK allow for approx. 1 and a half pints of beer or the equivalent while driving, I have my own rules.

IBooze and driving do not mix.

I am pleased to learn recently that in Ireland it is illegal to even have so much as a thimblefull of booze and drive.

I think UK should go down the same road as it were and simply ban all booze and drive. It will cut the accindent rate by as much as a third, I think.

Face it. People know the difference between what is right and what is wrong.
People know that drinking and driving do not mix, but they do it anyway.
People know that drinking dulls their reflexes and their perception of reality.
People drink and drive anyway.
People know that they should not be doing it in the first place.
They Just do.

That goes to show that people who decide to drink and decide to drive under the influence, know they are going against the established law, yet, they prefer to ignore the fact because it is easier...until something bad happens.

That probably proves criminal intent, because you take alcohol, you drive a car and know you are putting yourself and others at risk.

Only a complete jerk, and that means 100% of those who regularly practice drunk driving, would imbibe alcohol before getting in to a car to drive.

Your question only proves this.

I wouldn't. Drinking and driving is a selfish and idiotic thing to do, and they happen to be two character traits I do my best to keep out of my make up (with varying degrees of success, fair enough, but this is one area where I'm adamant).

I do love a glass of wine, don't get me wrong, and I enjoy driving in the right conditions, but only a fool would argue that the two were compatible.

None as no way do I condone drink driving. It is usually the innocent that get hurt! Also, why is it that people feel they need to drink to have a good time. It is rubbish! By the way I am not teetotal and enjoy a drink as much as the next person.

None, it would be much easier for everyone if the rules said that you couldn't drink at all, that way people wouldn't be tempted to have 1 or 2 drinks and then drive.

Personally, none at all.
I rather like, when out to dinner, declining wine with a rather superior "No, thank you, I'm driving . . . " You can see the thoughts going through all the other heads "He's right, you know."

None. I dont generally drink so I'm sure the allowed one would effect me. I think the limit should be zero to save any mistakes and "I didnt know I was over the limit" excuses.

none at all, not even a shandy, at least once a week i have to cut some idiot out of a car stinking of alcohol screaming 'its not my fault' and if he has killed some poor road user i still have to treat him with respect and dignity despite seething inside, stay away from the wheel if you drink cos even one could be your last
