To the penny! A one-cent error can be the combination of two others. One month, my other half had neglected to enter a check for $9.99, but I'd made a $10 subtraction error.
Of course, having 3 computer degrees and a math degree between us, plus one being a former bank teller, means that our combined practice may not be typical. Then again, maybe the combined advice is worth something to you. Take your pick; your mileage may vary, void where prohibited or taxed, see local store for details.

Ok smart one! I attempt to balance it but the bank is not good at keeping my money in balance. ha ha
It has gotten easier the better I manage what little bit of money I get every month. I have been keeping up with it DAILY for right now to see where they mess up!

I don't balance my checkbook. With PayPal for my bills and my weekly budget, I just need my monthly bank statements.

I round it off and because I'm with a bank that charges for everything I also do it on line.
