That's not an easy task. For politics, I head to this site and do a lot of cross referencing.

Get it from both sides of the argument.

Read both the Washington Times (Strongly conservative) and the Washington Post (Strongly liberal)
Read the web sites of the candidates, and their opposition.
Read the news from US Sources, and other countries. (Very interesting to see what is being printed in Chinese newspapers.) There are english translations available on the web.
And, MOST importantly, do research. Figures lie, and liars figure. Get your own facts, and ask what they really mean. Data is useless unless you know under what context it was gathered.

From sources who's bias I know. It's actually impossible for a person to tell a story from any perspective but their own, so you get a better picture by listening to several people tell the same story, and reading between the lines yourself.

Every source is biased one way or another.

The best way to get the information you need is to research several sources and eliminate the BS from each to get the full story.

All sources have some bias, but I'd say pick the Associated Press for news.

For U.S. domestic news I listen to the BBC. For International news I listen to Vatican Radio (except on religious matters)
