I have a sneaking suspicion of what these are, but I would be grateful if somebody a little more knowledgeable could take a look at these pictures and tell me what kind of spiders I have in my house. I've seen dozens of them. Thanks in advance for any information you can offer!
Billy.

They sure look recluse-y to me. A nice close-up of the eyes at the "base" of the violin would be diagnostic (6 eyes in three pairs), but the odds are pretty good even without that. They don't have to be Brown Recluses; isn't there a big South American recluse (L. laeta?) that had established itself in southern California and occasionally produced infestations like that? I don't know what its population and distribution status are any more, but if that's where you are, it's good possibility. See what your local extension office or museum has to say about ID; recluses are very easy to confirm, and none of the species found in the US would terribly nice to have around the house in any numbers.

Google brown recluse spiders to verify pictures of them. i've got been questioning fairly plenty approximately brown recluse spiders myself right this moment and have desperate to reserve some glue traps to place around my domicile to capture any spiders that is recent. Then i will the two reassure myself that i've got not got the brown recluse or i could have the concepts i could attempt to rid my domicile of a unfavourable pest. And in spite of being a bio instructor, i'm frightened of spiders, too. i'd fairly see a snake or a mouse in my room any day.

Having a fear of spiders and making it a point to identify deadly ones if you look just behind the head you will notice a violin shape design that is the tell-tell sign of a recluse. It looks like it may be male and that could mean there are females nearby.

Location of where it was found would help with the identification. It looks like a giant crab spider or a brown recluse. I posted a link for those. Or you could try sending your pics to the website linked below.

The first of the three illustrations is a brown recluse, the other
two are something else, not clear enough pictures to say
what.

I believe they are all brown recluses - though they seem pretty darn big.
The marking on the thorax seems to be the identifiable factor.

**Thanks for the closer pictures - yeah.. seems like recluses to me.
