When we have the word, "videographer", why not "videoing"?

Viewing will be just the action of seeing whereas videoing could include the sound perception too!

Recording on video tape should be video recording.

Let us use the word videographing for making a video and spare the word videoing for the cause I am fighting for!

No. Since it involves audio and visual why would it be videoing? That would imply watching something - anything - like a movie, TV show, etc. not just an audio-visual presentation.

surely not...'videoing' is the action of recording something visual in a present tense to be used later for a representation whether domestically or in the work environment possibly as an audio visual presentation. The possible facetiousness of the question has possibly arisen due to a recent event that the questionee did not want to attend.

This might work, if the English speaking world had not already stared using the word "to video; videoing" to refer to the act of MAKING a video, not watching one.

The fact that you say "recording a video" is not really relevant; the rest of the world already says "videoing" to mean recording a video. It's too late to put that horse back in the barn.

No, Videoing is used for recording onto videotape, so it will be used more and more instead of "filming" , "taping" or "recording", but I don't see it becoming a word for "watching" a video.

In your usage, "videoing" is a verb, so it would be the act of making a video tape or a digital video, not watching one.
