it can play videos on youtube but not on websites like Channel 4 or wwe i can give you the details of my pc if you need it

Yes it's probably codec problems, the easy way out is to download a free programme called videolan from www.videolan.org . It plays just about every video and audio type I have ever seen. It's not fancy but it works. Hope this helps.

Sounds like a CODEC problem. If you check the properties in the media player you can generally tell if it had a problem finding the video CODEC to play the file. With DRM and all the compression schemes, video content can be a pain to play at times.

try going to http://divx.com and download/update the video codecs. That should kick it over for you.
