I'm 19 and I'm still a virgin, because my boyfriend and I have decided to wait until marriage :-)

However we have tried before, and it was almost like there was nowhere for him to go...

So I've tried using tampons to sort of "prep the way", but it's quite painful... and one of my friends told me that she had horrible pain when she lost her virginity, and that she struggles to use tampons, too.

I know that most women have lived through the pain to tell the tale, but is there anything I can do to try and cope with the pain when my boyfriend and I do get married?

I can only imagine the pain when I was trying to put in a tampon, and I'm afraid that it will be 10x worse and that I won't know how to handle it... =/

Your help is appreciated :-)

You shouldn't have any pain when putting in a tampon unless you're not relaxing or inserting it when not menstruating. Your vagina should be open enough to do it.

See a Gyn if you're not already. Something is wrong with your vagina and you need to have it checked. I'm serious.

"Losing" your virginity is not that bad; provided you have a normal vagina and your spouse does it right (enough foreplay and does it slow). For me, it hurt only the first few seconds, then got better as the act continued. My first was good as far as preparing me and guiding me through it. He knew what he was doing.

Having intercourse for the first time is a bit uncomfortable but I wouldn't say painful. I think once you are married and enjoying the honeymoon nature will take it course. You can buy KY lube and that may help make things easier. If sex is painful you should see your doctor to rule out any type of infections, bladder problems etc.

thats awesome your going to wait
try to play with some toys or have him finger you, doing things like this will help with the stretching, also he needs to go slow and easy the first time and needs to get your warmed up before you have sex, going right into the deed is not the best, preping always helps with foreplay or so, try lube too for the first time
practice will help with things and ease the pain also being on top for the first time might help because you can control thr pressure and go at your own pace
